Friday 7th October WINDSOR CASTLE & RUNNYMEDE A morning visit to Windsor Castle official residence of Her Majesty the Queen and the world s oldest and largest lived in castle. Built in the 1000s Windsor Castle has been the home of monarchs for over 900 years. On your visit inside the castle you will see St George s Chapel where many kings are buried; the state apartments where the Queen carries out official engagements and the footguards who guard the castle in their uniform of red tunics and bearskin hats. Lunch is at a dining pub close to the River Thames just a stone s throw from the castle. The afternoon will be spent visiting Runnymede, just three miles from the castle, where Magna Carta described as the greatest constitutional document of all times was granted in 1215. saturday 8th October EXPLORE LONdON Enjoy your free time in London with some of our recommended attractions, sights and places of interest. Shopping The West End contains some of London s finest shopping streets. Check out Oxford Street,Regent Street, Bond Street and St Christopher s Place for big-name flagship stores such astopshop, Ralph Lauren, Selfridges, Hamleys, and The Apple Store. When shopping in Soho, you ll find the famous mock Tudor department store, Liberty, close to excellent boutique shopping areas such as Berwick Street, Carnaby Street and Kingly Court. Covent Garden is a lovely area to explore on foot. There are smaller West End shopping streets in the area. Don t miss St Martin s Courtyard and Seven Dials. Theatre, Cinemas and Casinos The West End is also London s glamorous centre for red carpet movie premieres. Hollywood stars can be seen posing for photos almost every week.
