RICHMOND, BC, CANADA Aquaventure Waterpark is the largest and most dynamic water-themed attraction in Dubai and the number one waterpark in the Middle East and Europe. Encompassing 17 beachfront hectares along the apex of The Palm s crescent, the waterpark is known as an over-the-top adventure playground. Awe inspiring water rides, a record-breaking zipline circuit and non-stop water play are the signature elements of the magnificent waterscape, located at Atlantis, The Palm. The park also stands out by being the only waterpark in the UAE that has 700 meters of white sand beach. In 2013, Atlantis, The Palm raised the stakes in entertainment with the spectacular Tower of Poseidon a $27 million (US), 40-meter-tall attraction. The Kerzner development team worked with Whitewater West Industries Ltd. to create the ultimate new waterpark adventure. Using 3,300 square meters of concrete and 550 tons of reinforcing steel, the development rose swiftly. Filled with record-breaking rides, these high-octane rides allow friends and guests to compete for thrills. Attractions within Tower of Poseidon include: Poseidon s Revenge, with two terrifying trapdoors; Slitherines, the world s first ever dual waterslides within a waterslide; 6-person rafting adventures Aquaconda and Zoomerango, which feature the world s largest waterslide tube and massive vertical wall that allows guests to experience weightlessness. The area is also home to the longest zipline circuit in CONSTANT the Middle East called Atlantean Flyers. C to Netw k Amaz e AND P Watрp FOR THEIR WORK ON CARTOON NETWORK AMAZONE CARTOON NETWORK AMAZONE BANGSARAY, THAILAND POLIN WATERPARKS KOCAELI, TURKEY THEMING WAS A STRATEGIC WAY TO BRING THE GUEST EXPERIENCE TO One of the most highly anticipated waterparks to open in 2014 is Cartoon Network Amazone, located in the seaside town of Bangsaray, Thailand just minutes from Pattaya Beach City. A MAGICAL A NEW LEVEL IN The world s first Cartoon Network-themed waterpark is located WORLD. on a 35-acre site with panoramic ocean views from its signature attractions and ten unique zones, including the one-of-a-kind ride called The Omnitrix, a planet shaped, enclosed family raft ride that was inspired by Cartoon Network s most famous Ben 10 series. It was a challenge to create a project of this extreme customization, admits Liakat Dhanji, Chairman and CEO of Amazon Falls Co. Ltd. Our main objective was to launch a waterpark that would pay homage to all the beloved Cartoon Network characters and bring their DNA to life in a water ride experience. Cartoon Network Amazone is different from other waterparks in Asia for several reasons. First, it is themed with Cartoon Network characters from Ben 10 s aliens to Johnny Bravo to Powerpuff Girls and the award winning Adventure Time. Theming was a strategic way to bring the guest experience to a new level in a magical world. The guests are surrounded by Ben 10 s aliens, Dexter s Lab, the Powerpuff Girls and so forth. The mascot characters are on-site every day and are an important part of the overall guest experience as fans get to meet and greet them around the park, said Dhanji. Theming in waterparks is not new but theming the waterslides as characters of the story is something brand new. That is why Cartoon Amazone Waterpark is changing the game in the waterpark industry they dreamed up a waterpark not seen before and pushed the boundaries of design, Sohret Pakis, Marketing Manager of Polin, the park s slide design partner. A second factor that makes this park unique is its live entertainment. Nowhere else in the world will fans be able to see daily live shows with their favorite cartoon in dance numbers that include their friends from Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, Adventure Time and many more. These live shows will take place at the park s wave pool, which has its own aqua theatre. The park also boasts several state-of-the-art waterslides and a very active adventure river. On the service side there is Foodville, a vast array of nine different food outlets ranging from Teppanyaki, Sushi, Italian, American, Indian, Thai and Asian cuisines. Center Parcs latest Village at Woburn Forest opened to guests FOREST. on 6th June 2014 and the design and construction of the Subtropical Swimming Paradise presented some unique challenges for the architects. Due the undulating nature of the site and new light pollution legislation, the traditional Center Parcs dome has been replaced with an innovative clam shape, nested into the forest landscape with glorious views through a 14-meter high glazed façade. Working with Water Technology Inc. on the conceptual design and ProSlide Technology Inc. on the slide design, the internal brief was to retain the successful core features of the existing Center Parcs Subtropical Swimming Paradise, while at the same time adding new exciting and challenging features for both children and parents alike. Woburn Forest boasts 3 new exciting water rides: Tornado, Twister and Typhoon, as well as a wave pool, leisure river and Venture Cove family play area. Internal planting plays a critical role in any Center Parcs Subtropical Swimming Paradise and Woburn Forest is no exception. Center Parcs own botanist travelled to South East Asia on a mission to rescue species of bamboo, palms and other tropical plants and trees, all of which were at risk of deforestation. Over 6000 trees, plant and bushes from at least 475 species have been saved and transported to Woburn Forest making the Subtropical Swimming Paradise a true living jungle. In addition, the Subtropical Swimming Paradise at Woburn Forest boasts state-of-the-art changing facilities designed specifically with families in mind and includes lockers that can be locked and unlocked using a wristband rather than a key, which can also act as a payment device within the pool area. 22 u WWA AWARDS PROGRAM 2014

Wet n Wild Sydney is the most technologically advanced waterpark in the world with groundbreaking RFID technology integrated into the park s infrastructure allowing guests to have a seamless in-park experience. Wristbands, branded as MyBand, are guest s ticket into the park. During their visit guests can upload cash onto MyBand and use this to purchase retail, food & beverage and locker rental. In association with Magic Memories photography, MyBand is used to store on-ride and roaming photographs from throughout the park, with guests being able to view and share photos online.
