CUB CAMP 2018 The Great American Road Trip Dear Scouting Family, The outdoor experience is one of the most important aspects of Scouting we provide for your children. It keeps them engaged during the summer and keeps them progressing in the program between school years. NARRAGANSETT COUNCIL Family Day Camp For Cubs and siblings entering 1st -5th grade Family Day Camp is a great way for your Cub Scout age son or daughter to experience the thrill of the outdoors and is a good introduction to independence from mom and dad without being too far from home. The week-long program fills each day with adventure and experiences for which families join the Scouting program. Activities include archery, BB, boating, swimming, crafts, and many more. All Day Camps offer extended hours for families whose schedule does not fit the 9am-4pm time period. Day Camps are geographically located throughout the Narragansett Council for the convenience of all Scouting families. Each week will offer a different theme to keep the excitement going all summer, so take advantage of coming to camp multiple weeks at a DISCOUNTED RATE. You can also sign up for camp ALL SUMMER at Camp Champlin!! Volunteers are needed to serve on staff. If you are interested you must fill out the online application on the website. If selected to be on staff; you will also receive one FREE week of camp for one camper. STEM program at each day camp! Learn to Swim with our trained lifeguards at Camp Norse and Camp Champlin Get a leg up on advancement by completing different requirements each week Pack Registration Incentive: Make a pack commitment for a week and pay a deposit by April 20, 2018 and receive a discounted rate of $180 per camper (does not include bussing or after care). Family Overnight Camp at Camp Norse An overnight adventure for the entire family! Whether you are an avid camper or have never slept a night out in a tent, family camp is the perfect opportunity to enjoy all that Camp Norse has to offer! You can enjoy 2 nights as a full Pack or as a family. Our dining hall is in full swing and will provide all your meals, great songs, and always that Camp Norse Spirit! Enjoy making crafts, cool science experiments, swimming in the pool, lounging on our beach, going fishing, shooting, archery, and so much more. Families are encouraged to bring their own tents, we will have tents available to use for the weekend if needed. We also have a limited number of cabins and Adirondacks available. NARRAGANSETT COUNCIL Webelos Weekend Adventure at Camp Norse For Scouts entering the 4th or 5th grade Come to Camp Norse this summer for our Webelos Camp Weekend. This program has all the fun and action of a week of camp all packed into a weekend session where all the meals and programs are provided. During the weekend, Scouts will have the opportunity to work on some of their advancements, start working as a patrol, learn about their next steps into Boy Scouts, plus fishing, swimming, boating, BB, archery, and much more! In addition, since it is a weekend, parents can join in on the fun! Parents or a Pack leader are required to attend with the youth. Families are encouraged to bring their own tents, we will have tents available to use for the weekend if needed. We also have a limited number of cabins and Adirondacks available. Webelos Outdoor Adventure at Camp Yawgoog For Scouts entering the 4th or 5th grade This camp is a fantastic introduction to the Boy Scout Program while providing the additional adult supervision and structure still needed by the Cub Scouts. Our Nationally Certified Staff will be on hand to ensure a safe, successful and fun filled camping experience. All Webelos and parents will be housed in newly constructed Adirondack shelters. Den Leaders are welcome to attend but are not required. Parents wishing to attend need to be registered with BSA and provide proof of Youth Protection Training at check-in. A Den or Pack sending four or more Scouts will be allowed to have one Leader stay the week for free. Half week sessions are available (Sunday through Wednesday Evening or Wednesday through Sunday). Program for Webelos Scouts will include but is not limited to: knot tying, BB range, archery, nature, pioneering, first aid, forestry, low-ropes, initiative games, handicap awareness trail, rowing, swimming, water sports, leatherwork, basketry, star gazing and hiking. Ample free time is also given to just take it easy.
