Depart this morning for a guided tour in the Cap de la Madeleine Shrine, the largest Marian shrine in North America. It was inaugurated in 1964 but its origins date back to mid 17 th century. The Little Sanctuary Rosary opened in 1720. It is the oldest church in stone preserved in Canada. Here, you will find the statue of the Virgin, another miracle recognized by the Church. It was in this place where, in 1888, the Virgin opened her eyes in front of three witnesses. You will also discover the Rosary Bridge, commemorating the ice bridge event that occurred during the winter of 1879. Mass. Drive toward Québec city. Upon arrival, we will visit the Basilica where the frescoes illustrate the missionaries, saints and blessed of Québec. Each year, more than one and a half million of pilgrims visit this shrine dedicated to Anne, making it the first shrine in North America. Mass. Depart to discover Côte de Beaupré and stop en route to Cooper art museum and discover 88 years of savoirfaire with the Gilles family. Then be amazed by Christorama. This is the story of the Life of Christ told in 50 hand wrought silver panels., Mr. Gilles did church work in about 60 churches around Canada and United States. Then stop onto Montmorency falls. Located between the river and the cliffs, it's one of the province's most spectacular sites. With its 83 meters high (30 meters higher than Niagara Falls), Montmorency Falls dominates the landscape. DAY 7 Sunday, June 17th ST ANNE DE BEAUPRÉ/MONTRÉAL Morning will be dedicated to a pilgrimage of Saints and Blessed Founders: François de Laval, first Bishop of Quebec. In 1659, at the age of 36 years, François de Laval arrived in New France. First bishop of Quebec, which extends from Acadia to Louisiana, worked to build the nascent Church. Time to pray on his tomb in Notre Dame de Québec Cathedral where Holy Door, first one in North America,opened on 2015. 4/5
