Each walk finishes in a picturesque lcal village deep in the valleys where yu will stay in a rustic htel, called hstal, meet the lcal peple, interact with them, enjy their culture, custms & cuisine. We will visit the Valprquer caves f the Mntes de Len with an ptin t take n a 3.5km explratin thrugh the heart f the cave system. Day 2 Thurs 1 June 2017 Rute 1 Lag de la Ercina - Vega de Enl Cvadnga (Lags de Cvadnga) The day begins with a stunning drive t the Peaks & startpint at the Lakes f Cvadnga. We walk thrugh the ancient Asturian pastures f the unique vacas Asturiana breed. We fllw the trail thrugh the Vega(valley) de Orandi alng by the river t the cave. Distance: 13 km Ascent 300 m Descent 800 m Duratin: 4-5 hurs Transfer Cvadnga a St de Sajambre.- 1hr 15min Stay night tw in Hstal Pena Santa in St de Sajambre in shared accmmdatin Day 3 Friday 2nd June 2017 Rute 2 - St de Sajambre Psada de Valdeón The day begins walking thrugh a canpy f beech trees with spectaular vistas f snw peaked muntains peeking thrugh the trees f the native frest f Bsques de Vegaban. Majestic ancient aks dwarf their neighburs. Try wrapping yur arms arund the trunk f the massive & ldest ak in the Pics, hand in hand with at least 6 f yur friends. The rute then takes us t the tp f the muntain range at Cllad del Frade where yu will feel n tp f the wrld lking dwn n a sea f cluds. With a keen eye, lk ver t the snw patches & yu ll see the shy unique native chamis / rebec resting after grazing the heathers & nutritius herbs. After a stp fr a picnic we climb again & frm the tp lk dwn the valley t the villages belw. Yu will see the similarity between the Alpine plants here & the Burren. A lvely pallet f clurs f the wild flwers. Ending ur day takes us n a leisurely walk int the village f Psada de Valdeón. Day 4 Saturday 3 June 2017 Rute 3 - Psada de Valdeón Fuente De (cable car) - Stres An experience f a lifetime awaits yu n this day. Yu start with a 4x4 trip in cnvy acrss a muntain ridge that avids a lng rad jurney & takes yu t the start pint at the Fuente De Cable car. The ridge ffers astunding views & demands a stp t admire them nt just f the muntains & beynd but t enjy the flra & fauna, saring eagles & interested vultures. Yu bard the cablecar at Fuente De & feel the sensatin f flight as yu ascend 1,800m t the tp. Our walk takes us thrugh anther sectin f the Pics in the prvince f Cantabria. Yu will walk alng a rute carved frm glaciers, a gelgical feature called mrrena(mraine) lcally named La Llma del Tr. The rute passes by the wrld famus refugi, the Htel Aliva & by the Pics retreat f the Ryal family f Spain. We walk dwn the valley past traditinal pastral huses & finish with an ascent int the village f Stres the highest in Asturias, 1,050m. Distance: 13 km Ascent: 250 m Descent: 1000 m Duratin: 4-5 hurs. Day 5 Sunday 4 June 2017 Rute 4 - Pncebs Caín (Ruta del Cares) This day begins with a 20min transfer frm Stres t Pncebs t begin ur final walk in the Pics, the emblamatic & utstanding walk alng Ruta del Cares als knwn as La Garganta Divina (The Divine Grge). It is unique in every sense as yu walk yu feel the the arms f nature wrapped arund yu prtecting yu as yu gaze at the trquise river raging belw. See gushing waterfalls spew trrents f cascading wáter frm the cliff face. Yu are surrunded by muntains ver 2,000m. Our path leads us t ur finish pint in Cain (in the prvince f Castilla y León). Distance: 12 km Ascent 300 m Duratin: 3-4 hurs We bard ur bus & drive dwn the Suthern slpes f the Pics t Riañ, anther incredibly beautiful place. A shrt while later we arrive in Vegacervera. This village is at the heart f a bisphere reserve. It is a destinatin centre fr utdr activities in the Mntes de Len, caves & grge f Valprquer & much mre. We stay here in the charming htel/alberque Las Rcas. That evening we enjy a wnderful dinner with a wine tasting experience f the superb wines f the regins we have visited. Day 6 Mnday 5 June 2017 Activity: Caves f Valprquer & tur f Medieval León After breakfast we visit the magnificant caves, where we ffer yu a chice f a guided standard visit r an exhilarating hi ctane adrenaline rush f a 3.5km trek which explres the cave system, rappelling dwn waterfalls, climbing, crawling, swimming as we descend t the final abseil 20m t the grund belw. After a light lunch we drive the 50km t León, check in t a charming htel in the heart f this Medieval City. There we ffer a chice t enjy time n yur wn r take a guided tur f this histric city, a gem amng the mst charming f the cities f Spain. Take time t visit the histric sites including the Gthic Cathedral & its spectacular stained glass windws, the Chalice f the Last Supper in the Muse de San Isidr, Paradr de San Marcs, La Plaza Mayr & Plaza de Gran & it s Gaudi architecture.
