Alaska Fresh & Wild Your Itinerary Day 1 Home Vancouver, Canada Transfer to the airport with your Tours of Distinction Tour Director for the flight to Vancouver, Canada. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel downtown for an evening at leisure. Day 2 Vancouver, Canada Embarkation Norwegian Jewel Breakfast and free time to explore this jewel of a city! Your Tour Director will have suggestions for great activities such as: Vancouver City Tour, Cycling Stanley Park & the Sea Wall and Granville Island to name a few. After, we transfer to the pier for 2 PM for a 4 PM departure on the Jewel. Once on-board and settled into our cabins, we get together for a Welcome Drink. Day 3 Cruise the Inside Passage We begin our day sailing through Alaska s famous Inside Passage. Have your camera ready for some of the most inspirational and photogenic views on the planet. Day 4 Ketchikan, Alaska Its Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means spread wings of the eagle and you may see some hanging out atop a Sitka tree. Due to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world s pristine wilderness. Optional Excursions Available: Saxman Native Village & Lumberjack Show, the Wilderness Exploration & Crab Feast or Lighthouse, Totems & Eagles Excursion. Day 5 Juneau, Alaska Juneau has been called Alaska's peak experience, certainly due in part to its unparalleled glacier viewing from such places as Tracy Arm Fjord, the Juneau Icefields and Glacier Bay National Park. The majestic Mendenhall Glacier lies nearly 12 miles outside Juneau, which is a journey worthwhile. Optional Excursions Available: Whale Watching & Wildlife Quest, the Mendenhall Glacier & Salmon Bake or Mt. Roberts Tramway. Day 6 Skagway, Alaska In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travelers come in search of other riches to experience yesteryear along Skagway's charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days. Optional Excursions Available: Best of Skagway & White Pass Railway, the Yukon Territory Scenic Drive or a Skagway Adventure Hike. More are available to choose from. Day 7 Cruise Glacier Bay Sail to Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, which is a United Nations World Heritage Site. Alaska Fresh & Wild Your Itinerary (Continued) Day 8 Cruise Hubbard Glacier Get up close and personal with the gigantic Hubbard Glacier, North America's largest tidewater glacier. It s 1350 square miles of blue ice and one of the most active in Alaska. Day 9 Seward, Alaska - Anchorage, Alaska We disembark this morning and will be met by our Local Guide. At this point in time, we will board our motor-coach for travel to Anchorage. Along the way, we stop at the Wildlife Conservation Center for some free time prior to heading to downtown Anchorage for a visit to the Anchorage Museum and free time. After, we spend the remainder of the afternoon on a guided city tour and a visit to the Anchorage Zoo. In the evening, we arrive at the Lakefront Hotel in Anchorage overlooking beautiful Lake Hood and enjoy a welcome drink and then dinner. Day 10 Denali National Park After breakfast, we begin our journey into the Alaskan wilderness traveling from Anchorage to Denali National Park. En-route, we stop for some free time in downtown Talkeetna for exploration and lunch. After, we finish our drive and arrive at the Denali Education Center for experience with dinner before checking into the RiverView at Denali Bluffs. Day 11 Denali National Park Fairbanks, Alaska Enjoy breakfast and then we head out on the Tundra Wilderness Tour which will bring us 56 miles into Denali National Park. We stop along the way for photo opportunities and wildlife viewing. A boxedlunch will be provided for our meal in the incredible surroundings. After, we board the Alaska Railroad Goldstar Cars for transportation to Fairbanks where we will have dinner on-board. Our stay for the next 2 nights is the Bear Lodge in Fairbanks. Day 12 Fairbanks, Alaska Enjoy a full day of activities for your final day of adventure in Alaska. We start the morning with breakfast at the hotel and a trip down the river on the Riverboat Discovery. Later, we continue the Alaska experience with an exclusive visit to Trailbreakers Kennels to learn more about the Iditarod race, a lunch and the highlight to hold the puppies! This afternoon, it s Gold Dredge #8 where we learn about the Gold Rush, Gold panning and even have the chance to find our own! This evening, we cap-off our Alaska Adventure with a Salmon Bake dinner.
