Safety & Emergency Procedures Tornado If you hear or see a tornado coming, warn others & take cover right away If you're in a building, go to the middle of the lowest level away from windows (bathroom or closet if possible) Get under something sturdy, such as a heavy table, hold on & stay there until the danger has passed Use your other arm & hand to protect your head & neck from debris If there is no building nearby, lie flat in a low spot & use your arms & hands to protect your head Lightning The safest place to be during a lightning storm is inside a relatively large, fully enclosed building Avoid bodies of water, open areas, high ground, tall objects (trees, light poles), small shelters in open areas, & metal objects If you are outdoors & lightning is in the immediate area, crouch down with feet close together, keep your head down, & cover your ears to minimize hearing damage from thunder Stay at least 100 feet away from other individuals in the area to prevent bolts from jumping from person to person Injuries Scouts treat minor injuries using their individual first aid kit For serious injuries & hurry cases, Scouts perform immediate aid & call for assistance with three short whistle blasts The first Scouters to arrive on the scene provides additional immediate aid as required, & determines whether medical evacuation is required by ambulance (911) or troop vehicle Nearest hospital emergency room(s): Hospital Address Phone Miles Rockingham Memorial Hospital 235 Cantrell Avenue, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801-3293 (540) 533-4100 37.1 3

Crozet Pizza National Geographic's "Best In World" Foder's Travel Guide "Best In State" and "Best In USA" Washington Post - "A Destination Restaurant" Washington Post - "Road Trip" Saturday Night dinner at Crozet Pizza Address: 5794 3 Notch'd Road, Crozet, VA 22932 Phone:(434) 823-2132 Crozet Pizza opened in 1977 in the small town of Crozet, Virginia. Owners Bob and Karen Crum, along with their four children, renovated an old building that had gone unoccupied for years, turning it into a small pizza restaurant. When Crozet Pizza opened, it had a mere five tables, all hand built by Bob Crum himself. Before opening, Karen Crum perfected the Crozet Pizza dough recipe that is still made daily at both locations. Bob Crum created the distinctive pizza sauce that continues to delight customers today. Mr. Crum hand made every pizza that was served for 31 years, one by one. As its popularity grew, people began to call in days ahead to order one of Crozet Pizza s delicious pies. In 2004, Bob and Karen Crum retired and sold the business to their daughter, Colleen, her husband Mike Alexander and their three daughters. Today, Crozet Pizza continues to be a family owned business. Enjoy! 10
