ANY AGE, ANY STAGE. SUMMER CAMPS KIDS LOVE.

A PLACE OF CARING, BELONGING, AND RESPONSIBILITY At all YMCA Camps, we create a welcoming environment where every camper belongs. Through a wide range of activities, we encourage campers to challenge themselves and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. A SAFE PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD All camp staff are selected for their skills, leadership abilities and commitment to children s growth and development. Our staff are dedicated to making sure that all campers are both physically and emotionally safe, and are trained in First Aid and CPR as well as receiving ongoing training through the YMCA s Healthy Child Development program. Water programs are supervised by certified lifeguards and at YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth, our extended trip leaders have Wilderness First Aid training. A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT Our YMCA camps offer active programs that promote a healthy lifestyle. Our staff model healthy living choices to ensure that campers take good care of themselves while they are away from home overnight or at a local YMCA branch camp. A PLACE FOR CHILDREN OF ALL ABILITIES At YMCA camps we are committed to supporting children of all abilities in our camping programs. If your child requires an enhanced level of support during their camp experience please contact our main camp office to learn about our Inclusion options. FINANCIAL ACCESSIBILITY AND ASSISTANCE Every child deserves to go to camp, regardless of economic circumstance. Through the YMCA Strong Kids Program, YMCA Day Camp, YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth and YMCA Camp Henry provides assisted spaces for campers who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend camp. Camp is like a dream #ymoment

YMCA DAY CAMP YMCA Day Camps are the best way to spend fun summer days. New adventures and new friendships have kids coming back day after day, week after week, and year after year. WHY THE Y DAY CAMP? YMCA day camps create experiences that last a lifetime. Our intentional approach to day camp is based on the principals of YMCA Healthy Child Development. Our staff, many of whom have been campers in the past, have a criminal record check, standard first aid and CPR and go through a week of safety oriented training to ensure your children receive the highest level of care you expect. YMCA day camp is the best way to play, build relationships and start to develop a healthy lifestyle like no other day camp. YMCA CAMP QUEEN ELIZABETH (CQE) On the sunny shores of Beausoleil Island, kids have overnight summer experiences that last a lifetime. 64 years strong at YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth! TRADITIONAL SUMMER CAMPS 2 Weeks - Session A, B, C (Ages 7-14) 1 Week - Horizons 1, 2 (Ages 6-14) From swimming and sailing, to crafts and camping, our traditional camps are the perfect blend of group development and individual choice. The focus of CQE s program is the cabin group, where campers learn to live, share and play in a small group setting. Stay for two weeks and campers get to experience a camping trip to a local wilderness area with their cabin group. LITTLE DIPPERS (Ages 6-8) Only 5 days long, this is the perfect introduction to summer camp! Each day, campers will participate in fun and creative cabin programs that allow them to try a little bit of everything from canoeing to campfires. OUTTRIP PROGRAMS (Killarney trips: Ages 12-14, Massassauga Trip: Ages 10-12) Our outtrip programs are extended canoe trips to some of the most beautiful wilderness locations in Ontario. Our two week trip goes to Killarney Provincial Park. The trips focus on developing camper s wilderness skills and appreciation for nature. Our one-week trips are a great introduction to wilderness camping for less experienced paddlers and go to Killarney and Massassauga Provincial Parks. LEADERSHIP OUTTRIPS: ALGONQUIN AND INTRODUCTION TO WHITEWATER (Ages 14-15) Our two week leadership outtrip programs focus on developing the skills, attitudes, and behaviours needed to be an effective leader. These programs are aimed at adventurous youth who are looking for a leadership experience in a trip environment. In the "Algonquin" program, participants will be on a flat-water trip for 11 nights in Algonquin Provincial Park. In the "Introduction to Whitewater" program, participants will learn theory and become familiar with whitewater paddling techniques while doing day trips, and then will venture to a classic Ontario river for a multi-day whitewater canoe trip. LEADERSHIP 1: DELAWARE PROGRAM (Age 15) The Delaware program is the first step in our month long leadership training programs at CQE. The focus of the program is on the development of outdoors and camper skills in a close-knit group environment. The program consists of a two week outtrip in the Temagami region and two weeks at CQE developing leadership skills. Prerequisite for Leadership 1: 15 years old by December 31, 2018. LEADERSHIP 2 (Age 16) Option 1: LIT (Leader-In-Training) Program The LIT program is for youth interested in furthering their leadership skills through hands-on training working with children. The program offers a mix of training and soft-skill development as well as opportunities to take on a leadership role within the camp environment. Participants spend two weeks in a cabin placement and two weeks in programfocused placement to develop instructional skills for camp activities. Option 2: Venture LIT Program The Venture LIT program is an alternate second step in CQE s leadership program. At the core of this four week program is an extended canoe trip on the Missinaibi River or Woodland Caribou Provincial Park and the Bloodvien River. This program offers participants a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop their leadership skills in a unique and challenging environment. Prerequisite for Leadership 2: 16 years old by December 31, 2018 and completion of the Delaware program and/or similar leadership experience.
