Hence, the meeting has been move back to the following week, Tuesday, March 11th. We will meet at Harbor Hills as usual and will get to hear the wild stories about the wicked runs and the festive après skis happenings that this club has become famous for. Two great memories come to mind about our last trip to Tahoe. One of our members won enough at the casino to pay for his entire trip. Ssweeet! The other memory was from après ski. We met a couple of young stock brokers at a bar near slope-side that offered to buy a round of drinks for everyone if one of the ladies would flash them. So one of our members obliged and we got a free round of adult beverage. An encore was performed and we were treated to another round. The stockbrokers did not catch on that the lady was wearing layers and while lifting the first layer, she only exposed the sweater that she was wearing underneath. I think that their friend Al Ko Hol might have been involved. OH SO MUCH SADNESS Most of us will be putting away our skis after the Tahoe trip as skiing in Ohio will start to melt away. It will be interesting to see who will win our Most Ski s contest this year. We already have a couple of guys that are near the 30-day mark. Well, fortunately this club does a lot more than just skiing. We will be Pppartying like it s 1999 Newark Ski Club Meeting Where: Harbor Hills Country Club 233 Freeman Memorial Dr. Hebron, OH 43025 When: Tuesday, March 11th 6pm - Social 7 pm - Meeting with biking and zip lining and wining. Speaking of wining, did you know that we have 4 winery events on the schedule for this Summer? And then there s the women's retreat, German Village Haus and Garten Tour, the Summer Picnic and the Fall train excursion through the New River Gorge. So much fun available, and all with your favorite friends! Just come to the next meeting to find out about all the details. Keep Your Tips Up, Tom, The Prez JUST FOR YOUR edification: This is your reminder that the date of the March meeting has been moved to the second Tuesday of the month. That means that the March meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 11th. Same Bat Time! Same Bat Station! So hopefully, this year, for you, You won t be forced to say.. I am NOT a Hundred years old!!!! O H I O The Ohio State spring game is returning to Ohio Stadium in 2014. The popular preseason scrimmage will be played on April 12th, 2014, and fans will get a special treat before football starts: a lacrosse showdown between Ohio State and Michigan. The lacrosse game is scheduled to begin at 11a with the football spring game following at 1:30p. The cost will be $16 for a tailgate party in the OSU Stadium parking lot. Except for the stadium West and East parking lot, parking is available and free. There will be two tents set-up to welcome you with hot coffee, hot chocolate, tea and orange juice. For those who like to warm up your beverage a bit more, Kahlua and Bailey s will be available. You are welcome to bring other beverages of your choice, and I will have the red cups for you. Everyone attending will bring the remainder of the food for our tailgate cookout. For you Buckeye Fans, you will be welcomed with the Buckeye face decals!!! Tim and I will arrive at the Shoe around 7a to set-up. The earlier you get there the better chance you will be able to park in the stadium parking lot. The lot is usually filled up by 8:30a. Otherwise, you will have to park at designated areas & walk. Those wanting to carpool will meet at the Park n Ride by Allison s (formerly Damon s). A courtesy donation to help on gas expense would be appreciated. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer to drive. Each year the tailgate party has grown, so I'm excited to see how many will attend this year. Please contact me at (614) 565-5815 or at scrowley@cbjlawyers.com to put your name on the list and send your payment to my home address at 1379 Oxford Downs Road, Newark Ohio, 43055 by March 20 th. I will make one trip to the Schottenstien Center to pick up the tickets. If you miss the deadline, the tickets at the door will be $20.00 (Cash only) & an additional fee to join our tailgate party. I will send a bring a dish list via email when I get the names of those attending. So get your Buckeye gear out and plan for this fun event! GO BUCKS!!!!!!

Page 4 T H E I N S I D E E D G ET H E I N S I D E Page E DPage G E4 4 2014 HOLIDAY VALLEY WRAP-UP February 9TH-11TH We had twelve people on the trip and four others who were up there during that period and joined us for the wine and cheese party on Sunday evening. We had a great evening sharing many stories of prior trips. The snow conditions were fantastic, but the temperatures ranged from -1 to +13, so everyone had to bundle-up. We enjoyed skiing the scenic trails and the diversity Holiday Valley offers. The road conditions for those who drove up Sunday 2/9 were a little dicey, but were fine for the trip home on the 11th. I hope more NSC members will take advantage of this great ski area the next time we plan a trip with the ski-in/ski-out accommodations and NO mid-week lift lines. Can t beat that oh ya, forgot to mention the awesome hot tub too! THANKS to all those who were on the trip. At the April 1st Meeting our annual Executive Board elections will be held. Below are listed the Executive Board positions open for election and the nominees standing for these positions. Please look them over, come to the April meeting, enjoy a lovely Italian dinner provided by the club, have a few drinks with the first one being on the club (drink tickets for all members), bring a desert for the annual Best Desert Contest, and VOTE! President (2 yrs) Mark Weiser Vice-President (1 year) Tom Erndt Treasurer (2 year) Newsletter (2 year) Christian Phillips At-Large (1 year) [choose up to 2] Roy Berman Tom Brubaker To Absentee vote just print this page, circle your choices & send it to the PO Box by March 28th. Thank you. Matt McBride has been doing an AMAZING job as the Treasurer for the past two years, but it is now time for him to step down. What does this mean to you? Well, I m glad you asked. That means that you now have the great opportunity to take his position on the Executive Board of the Funnest Club in the state, the nation! The World! THE UNIVERSE!!!!!! Am I indulging in hyperbole? Of course NOT (unless you actually know what that word means, then yes, of course I am, what do you expect?). So sign up now to be the next NSC TREASURER and do YOUR civic duty for YOUR ski club. It ain t a club without U!! THE FRIDAY HAPPY HOURS RETURN! So, I forgot to mention this in the last newsletter, but the Friday Happy Hours are back. On the 21st of last month, over 20 people got together at The Barn in Zanesville. Now it s time for us all to get together again at Buckeye Winery in downtown Newark. We ll even do it on the same day as February s. Join us around 6 pm at Buckeye Winery on Friday, March 21st for fun and frivolity. Then we ll be going to the new Buckeye Lake Winery in April and back to the great Hidden Lakes Winery in Canal Winchester a sennight before Memorial.
