The 7 th Annual SABA Islamic amily Camp rsday June 11 th - day June 14 th, 2009 Camp endocino, CA SABA Islamic Center organizes an Annual amily Camping Trip to have fun with friends and family, appreciate and enjoy the natural environment as well as community bonding in an Islamic environment. Where: Camp endocino located in the redwood forests north of San rancisco, CA. The journey will take about 3 1/2 hours (without traffic) from SABA Center in San Jose. Arrive at the Camp site 2:00pm on rsday June 11 th. When: rsday June 11 th : Check in after 2:00pm, Dinner, Poetry & Celebrations. day June 12 th : un Activities, Discussions, Campfire, Poetry & Celebrations. urday June 13 th : un Activities, Discussions, Campfire, Poetry & Celebrations. day June 14 th : ore un Activities, Check Out before 2pm. What are we going to do? Camp has volleyball and basketball courts, hiking trails, and an open field that can be used for soccer, cricket, and other sport activities. A river passes through the camp where swimming can be done. High rope activities such as rope zipping and cat walking will be offered by training staff on day and urday. There will be recitation of different supplications, prayers, and short speeches on different Islamic topics. ood: Halal fresh food will be prepared and served throughout the camp. Dinner will be served on rsday, breakfast, lunch & dinner will be served on day & urday, and breakfast will be served on day. What to bring: Causal and warm clothing, Sleeping bag, blanket and pillow, flashlights with fresh batteries, bug/mosquito repellent lotion or spray, sunscreen, personal hygiene (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.), tennis shoes, hiking shoes, hat, swimming suits/towels, rain gear (just in case!), folding chairs and throw rugs, camera, sports gears, badminton rackets and shuttlecock, inner tubes for pool area, phone calling cards. REGISTER IEDIATELY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTENT!!! How to Register for the Camp: Camp registration is done on a first-come first-serve basis and will stop after full capacity is reached. To register for the camp, please fill out the attached Registration orm (also downloadable from SABA s website), sign and date, and give it along with your payment check(s) to any SABA director or mail them to SABA Inc., 4415 ortran Court, San Jose, CA 95134. To avoid late charges, registration should be completed by April 30 th. If space is available, you will be registered in the camp and a confirmation email will be sent to you (you should provide an email address in your application). or questions email camp@saba-igc.org or contact any SABA director. LAST DAY for registration without late charges is April 30, 2009.

About the camp: Camp endocino is located 160 miles north of San rancisco, nestled in the redwood forest of endocino County, midway between Willits and ort Bragg. The Camp is spread over 2,000 acres with the beautiful Noyo River running through the middle. The famous Skunk Train Railroad runs between Willits and ort Bragg, stopping at Camp endocino. To locate the camp, in Google aps (http://maps.google.com), enter: 39 25' 32.60" N, 123 34' 28.80" W There is no cell phone coverage in the camp. Highway 20 and the area near the helicopter pad in the dirt road might have coverage for major cell phone companies. Inside the camp, in some areas free wifi is available. Driving Directions: rom Santa Rosa and the Bay Area: Take Highway 101 North to Willits. Turn left onto Highway 20 West (Third traffic light in Willits). Proceed on highway 20 to mile marker 17.23; you will see a Camp endocino sign on the right. Turn right on to dirt road. ollow dirt road for 8 miles (Road 200) as follows: Go straight and cross three wooden bridges (~2 miles), turn left after the third bridge (there is a Camp endocino sign). After approximately four miles you will reach a four way intersection. Go straight through the intersection. After you pass through the camp gate, you will travel about 2 miles before you reach the center of camp. Cross the bridge & proceed to the camp registration to inform camp organizers of your arrival. Please Note: Highway 20 and the dirt road into camp has many twists and turns so please drive carefully, especially if you are driving at night. Look for SABA Camp signs. Accommodation: We have reserved the whole campsite. There will be separate cabins for ladies and gentlemen. You may bring and set up your own tent as well. There are a limited number of lodges available for families with special needs and will be assigned based on first-come first-served basis. If you need special accommodation or have special medical conditions, please let us know. - Cabins: There are total of 24 cabins. Each cabin has six metal frame bunk beds and can sleep up to 12 people. Twelve cabins are assigned to ladies and twelve cabins to gentlemen. amilies who wish to stay together can bring, set up, and stay in their own tent. Sold out Typical Cabin Lodges - : Bring and setup your own tent and enjoy the nature environment of camp while entire family would stay together! Cost: If registered on or before April 30 th, the OUR DAY total charges for the camping in cabins are $80 per adult, $40 per child 6 to 12 years, and free for children below 6 years. A maximum of $300 will be charged per family for staying in cabins. If staying in own tent, the OUR DAY total charges will be $70 per adult, $35 per child 6-12, free for children below 6, and maximum of $250 per family. Starting ay 1 st, camping fees are increased by $10/adult, $5/child, and $50 for family maximum. Lodges are $500-$600 each and will be assigned to families with special needs on first-come firstserved bases. Any lodge not reserved by families with special needs by April 30 will be open to general public on first-come first-served basis. Daily camp attendance is also possible. Camp is organized by volunteers for enjoyment of SABA members and their families. Our primary goal is to make this trip a lot of fun and cheap, and we do our best to keep the cost as low as possible. SABA does not intend to make any monitory profit nor incur any loss for holding the camp. To make it affordable for all families, Camp ees are subsidized. Please donate generously to help SABA with camp expenses. It will help SABA to continue holding such camps in future at affordable prices for all members. SABA Camping Rules & Regulations You must agree to the following rules to attend the camp: 1. Everyone is expected to make a sincere effort to make this camping event memorable for the kids and families. No one may disturb peace or behave in a way to endanger safety of anyone in the camp. 2. Everyone is expected to strictly observe Islamic Etiquettes and Rules. Both ladies and gentlemen are required to observe Islamic Hijab and dress code at all times. 3. No smoking is allowed throughout the camp. 4. No firecrackers, paint ball, BB gun, alcohol, or firearm is allowed on the camp. 5. Please contact the organizing committee if you have any complaint or suggestion. Please do not take any action yourself and inform the organizers first. 6. Upon arrival you need to register with the camp organizers. You may not leave the camp or go out for a private trip without informing the camp organizers. 7. Do not create any fires in the camp or in the surrounding forest yourself due to the danger of forest fires. There will be a campfire organized every evening for everyone. Please make sure that you and your children do not play with matches or fire in the camp. 8. Everyone UST comply with the Quiet time requirements as instructed by camp organizers. 9. Everyone is required to attend prayers and main gathering events. 10. Anyone below 18 UST be accompanied by at least one parent. 11. Participants have to follow all the rules and regulations of Camp endocino. 12. All parents are responsible for any damage (breaking, graffiti) caused by their youth/kids inside or around the camp property.
