Fita 2012 Results Fita 2012, in its third edition became the best international touristic event in Mexico. 35 000 m 2 of exhibition area and 10 000 m 2 for seminars and conferences. It gathered more than 8,600 professional participants per day, 2,600 of them were exhibitors and about 6,000 were professional visitors from several countries of the world. Fita 2012 was visited by more than 60 000 people interested in the touristic sector.

Fita 2012 Results The Business Meetings system carried out 20 thousand preset business meetings. There were 159 events, 44 conferences and 46 seminars, 26 wine tastings, 26 food tastings, 11 gastronomy workshops, one award ceremony and the presentation of the book of the State of Zacatecas. For the third consecutive year the Academic Forum The Future of Tourism: A Future for Mexico was held. There was a special area for the media with the participation of 84 national and international media. This year Ecuador participated as guest country and Quintana Roo as guest State. There were 13 cultural presentations on stage from different countries and national destinations as well as shows of the different states of the Mexican Republic.

Mexico City Mexico City, one of the biggest cities of the world is a metropolis full of lights, colors, flavors and sensations and the unique warmth of its people. It is a city of contrasts that exceptionally combine its multi cultural past with the modern Mexico of the 21 st century. Mexico City is located in the center of the country, a strategic place for the Republic and the continent thus making it the ideal location to hold the International Tourism Fair of the Americas. Tourism is the third most productive economic activity for Mexico City; it represents 7% of the local GDP, it is the door to the country with more than 32 million passengers annually, it is undoubtedly, the ideal location for all tastes and budgets complemented with one of the most important gastronomic proposals that made even Forbes to declare it as one of the cities with the largest culinary offer.

The Exhibition Center It has an area of more than 45,000 m 2 free of columns, which maximizes the area use. The entire lobby can be seen from the access point, providing a general view of the entire fair. It is located in the Santa Fe zone, an example of the Mexico in the 21 st Century. Santa Fe has a top level hotels and restaurants infrastructure. The connectivity could not be better since there are two international airports, Benito Juarez in Mexico City and Lic. Adolfo López Mateos in Toluca in addition to the main ways of access.

Visitors Fita 2012 Mexico City was devoted to the professional touristic sector the first 2 days and to the general public the last 2 days. There was a selected group of professional visitors including: Countries. Government of the States. Tour Operators. Hotel chains. Airlines. Independent hotels. Car rentals. Travel Agencies. Bus Lines. Promotion trusts. National and International Destinations. Public and Private Organisms. Touristic parks. Foods and Beverages Providers.
