FOOTNOTES PACKING FOR YOUR WALT DISNEY WORLD VACATION 1 Assuming that you're not doing laundry on your trip, bring enough clothing for your entire stay, plus at least one outfit. Check the weather forecast just prior to departure. Remember, Florida in the winter can be chilly. 2 With the exception of prescription medication, nearly everything on the toiletries list is readily available in your Disney hotel gift shop. Prices are at a premium, but you won't have to go without if you forget something. 3 Soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided in WDW hotel rooms. Bring your own if you're brand sensitive. 4 Documents, cash, medication, and electronics should never go into checked luggage. Take particular care to keep electronics chargers with you. Flight delays and dead cell phones do not mix. 5 Please consider bringing several days extra of critical medication with you. Extended stays due to weather are not uncommon. 6 If you chew gum, bring it with you. Gum is not sold in the Disney parks and resorts, nor is it sold at the Orlando airport. 7 Make 2 copies of all travel documents. Leave one with a trusted friend at home. Keep another in your hotel room. 8 Check TSA regulations before your flight to make sure you're complying with current carry-on restrictions. 9 All Disney-owned hotel rooms include a hair dryer. If you're staying off-site, call the hotel to see if you need to bring your own. 10 In addition to keeping baby dry and smelling nice, baby powder is a terrific sand removal tool. If you're at resort with a sandy area, or will be visiting the water parks, consider tossing a container of baby powder into your bag. 11 Disney guest relations can easily replace a lost park ticket if you have a copy of the back of the ticket. Phone photos of the ticket work too. 12 Handy if members of your party go to sleep at different times. 13 If traveling with more than one person, a power strip is a near necessity. 14 If members of your party will separate, or if you'll use your phone for entertainment while in line, consider buying/bringing a portable phone charger or Mophie-type case.
15 Disney hotels provide crib sheets, but a sensitive child may be more comfortable with ones from home. 16 Limited brands, sizes of diapers and formula are available in WDW gift shops, at premium pricing. 17 Use Post-its to cover the motion sensor of self-flushing toilets. Prevents fears/tears from pottytraining toddlers. 18 Check the Walt Disney World website for dress code information on Disney's signature restaurants 19 Rental strollers are available at WDW, at premium pricing. These are not suitable for infants. All guests are encouraged to bring their own or rent from an outside service. 20 Flyers can visit a local store, have grocery items shipped to their hotel, or use a delivery service. 21 Towels are available for rent at the WDW water parks, but it's nice to have your own if you have room in the car. 22 ID is required for some in-park room charges. Plus, it's always smart to have official ID on your person. 23 Medical emergencies do happen. Keep insurance info with you in case you need to go directly from the park to a medical care situation. 24 Band-aids and basic over-the-counter medication are available at the park first aid stations. It is much more convenient to have a small supply with you. Depending on your preferences, you may want to carry a small supply of pain reliever, cold tablets, stomach remedies, etc. 25 Use to keep leftover food, to keep camera/wallet dry on water rides, to store souvenirs, etc.
