Sabiha Gökçen is less crowded than Atatürk Airport, flights are less delayed and there is no loss of time at passport inspection. The best option from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to go the hotels is to take a taxi. Since there is neither metro station nearby the airport nor direct public transportation to most of the hotels, this option will be much quicker and easier for the participants. The palace was built upon a 700.000 square meters area on an Eastern Roman Acropolis located at the Istanbul Peninsula between the Sea of Marmara, Bosphorus and the Golden Horn. Topkapı Palace was the administrative, educational and art center of the Ottoman Empire for nearly four hundred years. The Palace was separated from the city from the land-side by the Imperial Walls which were built during the period of Mehmed the Conqueror. It was also separated from the city from the sea-side by the Byzantine Walls. After the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, Topkapı Palace was transformed into a museum in 1924. It has the characteristic of being the first museum of the Republic of Turkey. Topkapı Palace is one of the biggest palace-museums with its architectural structures, collections and approximately 300.000 archive papers in the world.. 18

Many historical places which highly attract tourists are concentrated near Sultanahmet Square, in the heart of the Imperial Centre of the Ottoman Empire. The most famous places in this area are Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), the Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıcı), Palace of Ibrahim Pasha and the Museum of Islamic Art. In addition to these interesting selection of historical and architectural sites, Sultanahmet also has a large number of carpet and souvenir shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The participants who plan to leave Istanbul that evening will be invited to take their luggage with them on the tour. The buses will be stationed in a defined place so that after completing their tour, guests may pick up their luggage from the bus and depart for the airport on their own depending on their return flights. VII. General Information about Public Transportation in Istanbul İstanbul has an extensive bus system, including city-run and private buses, as well as one high-speed Metrobüs line; an extensive light rail system including four Metro (underground) lines, four Tramways (aboveground), two Fünikülers (ascending/descending), two mini-lines called Teleferik, and the Marmaray (underwater) lines; and the ferries which travel the Bosphorus. Please note that shuttle services will be provided from Cevahir Istanbul Asia Hotel and Dream Hill Hotel to Yeditepe University on April 17, 18 and to Sultanahmet Square on April 19. Istanbul Rapid Transit Network Kozyatağı Metro Station is the closest location to the Yeditepe University for taking a taxi.
