If the current dry spell continues, there may be insufficient water in the Dam, by June, resulting in the powerboats not being able to run. All planning for the event is still going ahead, with the Saturday Evening Street Party still a Lockyer Regional Council, supported event. The Sunday Show & Shine including ( hopefully) some Custom Show Trucks and Vintage Speedway, & Off road machines, as well as Hot Rods and Classics etc., will still go ahead. This is a Combined Clubs event, to replace our Swap Meet of recent years, raise some money and show-case our sport/ lifestyle. The Council were really pleased with last year s event, and wish it to continue. * " Street Classic " is the name given to new ASRF class for chassis-less vehicles to 1966. ( ( (Does not include floor-pans ) as a result of the formation of this new class, there will no longer be a Special Interest section at ASRF Nationals.

* As the Qld. division, is so spread out, and many members, particularly those in Far North Qld., feel they are isolated, a plan to appoint an ASRF representative in key areas was presented by the State Director. Julian Henry, member with Top of the State R & C in Cairns, has volunteered to fill the position up there. His position was proposed by the State Director, and approved by the DC. The Qld. D.C. are interested in hearing from any active member who would like to do the same for the other regions. ( Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton? ) Once a network has been established, regular phone conferencing will be held, to keep each Representative fully informed of current issues. The role is one of promotion of the ASRF with the view to attracting new membership, as well as keeping all existing members, and clubs abreast of matters at hand. The positions, once established, would be nominated by the DC, on a bi-annual basis, as with all other positions, with-in the DC. * There is a New Stewards Report form, which we would like someone / anyone who attends or runs a event to fill out so we can get feedback on which ones work and why. Reporting is especially important as we endeavour to build a picture of what our life-style is worth, in dollar value, to the community. I`m enclosing one with the minutes. * A recent situation has high-lighted, once again, problems with the system when registering a modified pre 49 vehicle. The Street Rod Registration Scheme, hard fought for by those that went before us, is there as a mechanism by which to legally register our Street Rods under. ALL modified pre 1949 built vehicles should be registered under this scheme! IF a vehicle is a modified vintage / classic, there is an ability to register under LO 8 provisions, but it is strongly advised that you contact a member of the Qld. TAC to see where your car fits in, to avoid any problems with your registration, down the track. ( As soon as suspension or steering is modified, eg. 4 bars, the vehicle MUST be done through the TAC with a Proposal to Build.) * Qld. Transport Main Roads are having a very close look at cars being used for Formals and Weddings. There was a Facebook page set up by some Street Machiners from Toowoomba where people could list there cars and people wanting one could book them. Unfortunately they were also telling everyone how much money could be made and displaying vehicles on Club Rego. Without a Hire Licence, Chauffers licence and Insurance you can not charge for the use of your car. This does not affect you using the car for your own family..club ROUNDUP * Northern Districts had a Club Photoshoot at the Clubhouse before it`s pulled down, preparing for our Show & swap on Sun.16th March. * Rod Squad had run to Fernvale, members are going to High Altitude Run in Toowoomba. * Gas Guzzlers pouring the new shed slab this week. * End Of The Road members going to the Beach Hop in NZ.and High Altitude. * Gold Coast SR. High Altitude Run * Eliminators went to Pete`s Moonshine Run and Judged the Logan PCYC Show.

* Wanderers High Altitude Run * Suncoast Going to the Big Cart[Gocart track], La Roadster Show in USA. *Fine Iron Went to Moonshine Run,going to High Altitude. * Cheetahs 3 members just back from collecting a running Barn Find Model A in Montana, High Altitude Run. * Rods Inc just had AGM, committee still same.
