Cozumel Casa Del Mar Resort Our Cozumel Mayan Adventure begins at the wonderful Casa Del Mar Resort on the beautiful island of Cozumel. Although this will be our 16 th time we have traveled to Cozumel, those who are fortunate enough to come here with us will soon learn why this has become one of our most popular trips in terms of amazing diving, value and FUN! Located just 2½ miles south of downtown, the location of the resort offers some outstanding advantages in the time it takes to get to not only the best diving, but the heart of the city for other restaurants and shopping, as well. Casa Del Mar takes very good care of all our groups and offers more amenities than most of their competitors including concierge service for daily excursions, a fresh water pool and hot tub (surrounded by chaise lounges & umbrella tables where you can be served both food and drinks) and a swim up bar all located near the main bar and outdoor restaurant sporting a spectacular view.
Free Wi-Fi is included, as is access to the resort's white sand beach (complete with palapas and a massage tent to work out those kinks), tennis courts and private beach club. Although many fine restaurants are just a short drive to town, Casa Del Mar offers delicious dining at every meal. Breakfast is served each morning at 7am, but feel free to enjoy the scrumptious lunches and dinners that are also available almost anytime, as the restaurant is open until 11pm daily. The rooms we have booked for our adventure are spacious, clean, air-conditioned, have satellite TV, telephone, and balconies that overlook the ocean. Just footsteps from the lobby, you can relax by the sparkling pool (complete with swim-up bar) or enjoy snorkeling & diving. While there is unlimited shore diving, the best sites are only minutes away by boat. The location of this resort is much closer to the great, less crowded dive sites and features shorter boat rides to the best diving on the island. We have included 10 boat dives in our package. For those who want to boat dive at night, we are also featuring an optional twilight / night dive package. For those seeking more adventure, the Cenotes dives on the mainland are a great add-on that we have scheduled during our final day. Since there is so much to do in addition to diving, this resort and location is also perfect for non-divers. Other featured attractions include a world-class golf course at Cozumel Country Club, swimming with dolphins, horseback riding, jungle tours, Mayan Ruins, parasailing, mopeds, as well as tours of historical museums & parks. We plan to check in to the resort on Saturday, June 22 nd, 2019. After we check into our rooms, you can begin your adventure with one of the unlimited shore dives as an introduction to the warm waters of Cozumel and a relaxing way to wind down after a day of travel! Cozumel is known in the diving industry as one of the best scuba diving locations in the world. Whether you re a novice, advanced, first-timer or old-timer, Cozumel has diving that fits your style. Most dive sites are found within the boundaries of Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park, which protects much of the second largest barrier reef system in the world. Created in 1996, the marine park is home to some 26 varieties of corals with more than 100 subspecies. More than 500 species or fish live in the park, including the endemic splendid toadfish. Due to marine life protection programs, divers can also often see loggerhead, hawksbill and green turtles. From shallow sheltered shore dives to secluded, seldom visited, current-swept drift dives, there s a dive in Cozumel for everyone. To take advantage of this amazing destination, we have included a full dive package that includes 2 days of 3-tank boat dives and 2 days of 2-tank boat dives along with one free welcome shore dive. This package offers the flexibility to add or subtract days of diving, a night dive, or have relaxing days on your own to further explore this unique island as well as the mainland located just a short ferry ride away! As an added special treat, we are travelling to Cozumel during late June to take advantage of their whale shark season. The whale shark is the biggest fish in the world and every year from June to September, they pass in front of Holbox Island following the stream of plankton. We are offering an
optional excursion so we don t miss this unique experience to snorkel with these impressive gentle giants. Normally, we see somewhere between one and five of these magnificent creatures. Holbox island is situated north of Playa del Carmen at the very corner of the Yucatan Peninsula. We will be transferred early in the morning to the fishing village of Chiquila where we will travel approximately 1 hour by boat to the island of Holbox. On the way, we may encounter a school of dolphins hunting sardines. Once we arrive to Holbox Island and encounter the whalesharks, we will snorkel for about three hours with these beautiful animals. On our boat ride back, we will most likely see schools of rays and flamingos at Punta Mosquito. We will then be treated to a delicious lunch before heading back to Playa del Carmen. This is truly a unique experience you will never forget!
Once your dive is completed, you can rest on the beach or around the beautiful pool until it's time for dinner at any of the hundreds of restaurants only a short walk away the choice is yours!
