LABORATORY REPORT ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF TOCOBIOL IN COCONUT OIL PROCEDURE RANCIMAT METHOD at 98ºC and 120ºC ANTIOXIDANTS TESTED TOCOBIOL BHA 200 ppm 200 ppm Horas Ranci mat 200 150 100 50 0 Sin antioxidante BHA 120ºC 98ºC RESULTS Comparison of induction times determined by Rancimat The results obtained indicate that TOCOBIOL is the antioxidant that provides a greater stability for Coconut Oil. Assays performed at 98ºC show that TOCOBIOL increases this oil stability in 75% while BHA samples show an increase of stability of 25%. At 120ºC the induction time of the sample which contains TOCOBIOL is 32,8 hours. That means an increase of the Coconut Oil stability of 6 test hours. The sample containing BHA shows an induction time increase of 0,7 hours.
LABORATORY REPORT COMPARATIVE STABILITY STUDY OF BULK S STABILIZED WITH TOCOBIOL Lab report #: 290 B Date: September 3 rd 2008 AIM Samples of lip stick mass containing different doses of TOCOBIOL will be tested using the Rancimat method to determinate the protection against oxidation provided by the mentioned Tocobiol doses. Initial oxidation level of every sample will be tested measuring its Peroxide Value Index. S TESTED Samples with the remarked doses of Tocobiol are received on August 13 th. follows. They are named as TOCOBIOL amount 1A TOC A 78 0.000 2A TOC B 78 0.250 3A TOC C 78 0.500 1B TOC D 78 0.000 2B TOC E 78 0.250 3B TOC F 78 0.500 1C TOC G 78 0.000 2C TOC H 78 0.250 3C TOC I 78 0.500

3C TOC I 78 CONCLUSIONS Looking at the initial Peroxide Value index of the samples, we find that all mixes containing TOCOBIOL, get better results than the one without it. That means that even from the manufacturing time, Tocobiol provides a high level of protection against oxidation. No difference in organoleptic properties are reported in the samples containing TOCOBIOL regarding the ones without it. Natural antioxidant TOCOBIOL gets better results when used over the most unstable samples (A and B range) getting a stability increasing up to 300 % for A and 390% for B. The stability improvement for C sample is lower (86%) because the Peroxide Value Index shows that its oxidation level is lower. Sample C seems to be the more stable mix. The adition of TOCOBIOL to every sample tested produces high increasings in the product s stability (up to 390% for B samples) without any organoleptical change.
