SCEIC DRIVES TO/OM SEDOA RED ROCK / SYCAMORE CAYO This drive takes you into the heart of Sedona s magnificent Red Rock Country. The route hugs to the foot of those colorful cliffs, and offers the option of four scenic side trips. FLAGSTAFF 40 Dry Creek Road leads to some of Arizona s most scenic hiking trails such as Boynton Canyon, Fay Canyon, Long Canyon, Doe Mountain, Bear Mountain, and many more. Venture forth to find perfectly preserved ancient ative American Heritage Sites. Turkey Butte Lookout West Fork 231 Canyon Vista Point 231 HALF DAY to FULL DAY Take State Route 89A through West Sedona to Dry Creek Road ( 152C) Turn north and proceed along 152C for 2 miles to Vultee Arch Road, and another 2.5 miles to the intersection with Boynton Canyon Road 152C continues southwest (left) In about 4 miles, SR-152C intersects 525. From here, turn north (right) to the Loy Butte spur or south (left) to continue the drive. In another 4 miles, 525 intersects with 525C (Sycamore Pass Spur). This road will take you to the east side of Sycamore Canyon. Continue south 5.5 miles to SR-89A, and another 5.3 miles on pavement back to Sedona. Sycamore Pass Loy Butte 525C to Cottonwood 525 RED ROCK / SECRET MT. Boynton Canyon 216 152C 152 SEDOA Red Rock Loop Road 153 Schnebly Hill Road MUDS MT. Munds Park 213 240 Please note: 152C is paved to Doe Mountain Trailhead. The rest of this route is unpaved and can become muddy and slippery when wet.

SCEIC DRIVES TO/OM SEDOA DESERT CAYO This is a drive through scenic high desert country where you ll see colorful canyons, cultural sites, lush oasis, picturesque ranches and out-of-the-way ative American ruins. The route skirts the lower elevations of Arizona s rim country where red rock canyons spill out from under thick basalt flows. The road cuts through two of these canyons, and offers access to a third along the way. Roadside signs point the way to a number of hiking trails, and a few spur roads leading into the back country. West Clear Creek Trail HALF DAY From Sedona, take State Route to the junction with I-17 West Clear Creek General Crook Hwy Continue southeast under the highway onto 618 Follow this road along the base of the Mogollon Rim, 13 miles to SR-260 (General Crook Highway) and turn west (right) 9 miles back to I-17 Verde River 708 Please note: The road is a bit rough, requiring slow speeds. 618 is graveled and suitable for passenger car; however, it can become soft and slippery when wet. Stoneman Lake Turn left onto I-17 (north) to visit Flagstaff, or turn right onto I-17 (south) to return to Sedona 213 Travel south on I-17, for 38 miles to the State Route junction Exit and go on State Route, for 14 miles back to Sedona Total Trip Time: Approximately 3 hours (75 miles)

Boynton Canyon 152C SEDOA 153 Schnebly Hill Road LESS THA 2-HOUR DRIVE 525C Red Rock Loop Road From Sedona, drive west on SR-89A Turn left on Lower Red Rock Loop Rd. The entrance to the Red Rock is on your right after 2.9 miles on Lower Red Rock Loop Rd. After Red Rock, the road becomes Upper Red Rock Loop Rd. to Cottonwood Verde Valley School Rd VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK At the bottom of the hill, turn right on Chavez Ranch Rd., then right on Red Rock Crossing Rd. to Crescent Moon Recreation Area Follow the roads back to Upper Red Rock Loop Rd. Turn right to return to Sedona on SR-89A

Main St., where you will drive through Old Town and follow the road to Clarkdale for a couple miles before turning north on Tuzigoot Road (which leads to Tuzigoot ational Monument a prehistoric ative American Ruin) CAMP VERDE Montezuma Well ational Monument Montezuma Castle ational Monument Continue on the old road to Clarkdale and follow signs to the Verde Canyon Railroad (4-hour train trip on a historic route) depot Continue through Clarkdale, north to SR-89A and climb the twisting road up Cleopatra Hill, the spectacular must-see setting of Jerome Return to Sedona, soaking in distant views of Flagstaff s San Francisco Peaks and Sedona s massive red-rock formations as you descend Cleopatra Hill and continue through Cottonwood on SR-89A

This scenic route circles the base of the majestic snow-capped San Francisco Peaks and the golden Aspen forests surrounding Flagstaff. Upon leaving, turn south (right) back onto U.S. Route 89 towards Flagstaff, and enjoy another startling view of the San Francisco Peaks as you travel past Wupatki, Sunset Crater Volcano and Walnut Canyon ational Monuments (the loop connecting Wupatki and Sunset Crater ational Monument is another scenic drive) After passing through downtown Flagstaff and heading south on I-17, exit onto SR-89A and descend the switchbacks through Canyon into Sedona SEDOA ote: Please check the road conditions during winter months.

HALF DAY to FULL DAY Take SR-89A south to Cottonwood and turn left onto E Cottonwood Dr / SR-89A Continue to follow SR-89A, and climb the twisting road up Cleopatra Hill the spectacular must-see setting of Jerome From Jerome, continue on SR-89A for 26 miles, turn left onto SR-89 for 3 miles Enter the next roundabout, and take the second exit onto SR-89 S, continuing about 4 miles to Prescott From Prescott, take SR-69 for 14.8 miles, turn left onto SR-169 / E Cherry Rd Continue for approximately 15.2 miles and merge onto I-17 north, via the ramp on the left, toward Flagstaff Return to Sedona, via SR- (exit 298) through Village of (or SR-260 through Cottonwood) SEDOA CLARKDALE Village of JEROME COTTOWOOD Verde River 260 69 CAMP VERDE PRESCOTT 169 Dewey-Humboldt 69
