Upon arrival you ll be met and transferred to your hotel where you have the remainder of the day at leisure, before our welcome dinner that evening, where you ll meet your fellow travellers and Tour Host. Accommodation: Hotel Diwan Day 2-23 September 2018 CASABLANCA - FES (B) Today we travel to the Capital city Rabat where we ll visit the medina and the King Mohamed Mausoleum before travelling onwards to the Imperial city of Fes. The oldest, largest and best-preserved medieval city in the world, Fes is a bustling hive of activity. The famed Medina is a heady mix of aromas, sights and sounds from the pungent tanneries to the alluring spice tubs, colourful pottery and intricate leather goods. Accommodation: Riad Reda Day 3-24 September 2018 FES (B) Our day begins with a morning city tour of the medina, including the Al Quaraouiyine mosque (mosques are closed to non muslims apart from Tinmel and Mosque Hassan II in Casablanca, but are open to view from the outside). The afternoon is free to explore your surroundings. Accommodation: Riad Reda Day 4-25 September 2018 FES (B,L,D) Today we head off on a day trip to visit the Roman city of Volubilis. A world heritage site dating back to 40AD, this ancient city once ruled the whole Roman province of Mauritania. Enough remains to remind us how thoroughly the Romans equipped their great capitals. The relics still tower over visitors, casting their shadows over the land and just hinting at their former splendour. These structures are among the most impressive of everything that remains of Volubilis. We ll also take in the the architecture of Meknes before returning to Fes for the night. MOROCCO 12 DAY SOLOS TOUR - SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2018 Day 5-26 September 2018 FES HIGH ATLAS (B,L,D) Today s drive takes us over the Middle Atlas mountains and their cedar forests. We ll stop for lunch near Midelt with a traditional Berber tea, then head across the plains, with the Berber nomads and their herds of camels before crossing the High Atlas and the Gorge du Ziz. Accommodation: Luxury Tented Camp Day 6-27 September 2018 HIGH ATLAS DADES GORGE (B,L,D) An early start on day 6 to catch the sunrise over the dunes before heading out of the desert by camel to our transport. We drive along the Valley of the Roses and visit the gorge du Todra, stopping at a women s cooperative to see how they turn the perfumes of roses into an array of different products. We spend the night in the valley of Dades. Accommodation: Kasbah Tizzaouirine Day 7-28 September 2018 DADES GORGE OUARZAZATE (B,D) A shorter drive today as we visit the Kasbah Amherdhil in the Skoura Palmeries and then onwards to the film capital Ouarzazate, where there s a chance to explore the town, the Kasbah and perhaps visit the film studios. Accommodation: Hotel Oscar Day 8-29 September 2018 OUARZAZATE MARRAKECH (B,L) Today we visit the famous kasbah of Ait ben Haddou - backdrop to many films and TV series, before travelling over the High Atlas mountains and seeing the lost palace of the Glaoui at Telouet- made out of mud brick and almost ruined, but with several luxury rooms left to show its former glory. In the evening we ll have dinner at the Chez Ali Berber tentsand experience some berber traditions first hand. Accommodation: Hotel Farah Marrakech Day 10-1 October 2018 MARRAKECH ESSAOUIRA (B) Today we travel from Marrakech across the dry plains to the argan forests near Essaouira. We ll explore Essaouira in the afternoon and take in the harbour and medina, or just relax on the beach and soak up the atmosphere. Accommodation: Riad Zahra Day 11-2 October 2018 ESSAOUIRA CASABLANCA (B,L) On day 11 we make our way up the coast and enjoy a wonderful lunch and some oyster tasting at the coastal resort of Oualidia.
