CHSBB S SECOND ANNUAL GET-TOGETHER SIESTA FIESTA SAN DIEGO, CA - JULY 15-17, 2017 Please note: This is NOT a convention! Just like this year s Spring Fling, the Siesta Fiesta is a vacation opportunity and an informal gathering of B&B fans. If that appeals to you, regardless of your plans to attend the 2017 con, come join us in San Diego for several days of fun! Note: There is NO registration fee - because this is not a con! For dinners out, payment will be made on one credit card and individuals can settle up after each dinner. For excursions you wish to sign up for, funds will be requested prior to the gathering so that we can purchase tickets and make transportation arrangements. Our base of operations is a hotel in the heart of Old Town San Diego: Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel - Old Town 4041 Harney Street San Diego, CA 92110
Siesta Fiesta room rate: $200/night for single/double occupancy (plus 10.5% occupancy tax, 2% San Diego Marketing District Assessment Fee, and $7.00/night resort fee). Includes full American Breakfast Buffet each morning, welcome cocktail voucher, two bottles of water in hotel room, coffee/tea service in lobby each morning, free shuttle service to/from San Diego International Airport. Parking at the hotel is $16/night. Additional adult guests in a room: $10/night. Check-in is 3 p.m.; check-out is 12:00 Noon. Room rate is available from Wednesday, July 12, 2017, through and including Tuesday, July 18 (check out by Wednesday, July 19, 2017, or you will be charged the prevailing summer room rate for that night and subsequent nights). Make reservations by calling the hotel directly at (619) 298-4707. Mention Siesta Fiesta Group when reserving to get the room block rate. If the block is full when you call, let JoAnn know so she can have the block enlarged (note: book as soon as you decide to come to ensure we can extend our room block if necessary). You can make reservations NOW, so why not do it?! A schedule of activities will be developed, dependent upon the number of fans gathering and what days they are staying. We have LOTS of options! GIVE US AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU D LIKE TO DO! Of course we ll do B&B things! Like at Spring Fling, we ll play games of all kinds with a B&B flavor. There ll be chances to purchase a variety of items to raise funds for Just In Time (a charity providing assistance to youths aging out of the foster care system), and we have some other fun ideas in mind (we re open to suggestions!). So even if you don t wish to join other fans on any excursions, there ll still be lots of B&B-specific fun to be had during the long weekend! And, depending on the number of fans coming, we may offer a full day of in-hotel activities in addition to planned excursions and game nights, and extend the fun over MORE than three days! If you plan to come, we need your help. View the following pages for dining and/or excursion options that appeal to you. Advise CHSBB at chsbb@aol.com or write to CHSBB/Brenda Froberg at 1475 N. Highview Lane #405, Alexandria, VA 22311. Alternately, advise JoAnn Baca at joannb2003@yahoo.com or write to her at 5560 Redland Drive, San Diego, CA 92115, so we can plan what appeals to most attendees. Responding to this survey does not commit you to anything, it s just a way to gauge interest among a variety of choices. However, since we will develop a few excursion and dining opportunities based on probable attendees interests, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND UNLESS YOU PROBABLY WILL ATTEND.
SIESTA FIESTA QUESTIONNAIRE Fill out and return or e-mail your responses ONLY if you probably will attend. Dining Options (all options are within walking distance of the hotel): TYPE OF FOOD Mexican (restaurant) Italian (restaurant) Cajun (restaurant) Seafood (restaurant) Pizza Party (in a hotel suite) Banquet-style dinner (private room at the hotel) Buffet lunch (in meeting space at the hotel) Picnic (outdoors at a park near the hotel) INTERESTED? Excursion Options: Of course, once you are in San Diego, you can plan for any of a variety of tours and excursions, to be taken on your own. This gathering is being planned so that you can spend as much or as little time together with other fans as suits you. At Spring Fling, many fans went on excursions together, but some skipped the tours, explored on their own, and met up with other fans for dinners. It s all up to you! For those who would prefer to hang out with other fans as much as possible, in addition to the B&B-themed activities we have planned, we will offer some group excursion options. This is where the feedback of potential attendees becomes so important. Let us know which, among the items listed, appeal to you. This does NOT commit you to the excursions at this time, just lets us know which ones we should pursue based on the level of interest. [To the extent known, prices are included to give you a general idea of costs BUT they are current 2016 prices, and are subject to change.]
