Day 02 Auckland - Bay of Islands After breakfast, check out and proceed by your rental vehicle and self drive to Bay of Islands, Paihia (approx 3 hrs). There is plenty of fun stuff to do here sail or cruise or go fishing and more. There is plenty of cruises, boat rentals, adventure sports para sailing over the islands, sky diving over the islands, cultural attractions, diving, golf, day sailing, There's also regular trips to stunning Cape Reinga (the most northerly point of NZ) and the famous 90-Mile Beach. Discover the bay Hole in the Rock cruise or Swim with Dolphins cruise - The Bay of Islands is a subtropical micro-region known for its stunning beauty & history. For those that love beaches and water activities, it's paradise. Once you re around Tapeka Point - just north of Russell - you ll enter a maritime adventure playground with an abundance of wildlife including penguins, dolphins, marlin, whales, gannets and more. Many of the islands here have walking tracks and there is a camping ground on Urupukapuka Island.

Day 03 Bay of Islands After breakfast, proceed to Cape Brett in your self drive vehicle and also take the Hole in the Rock cruise. Rest of the day at leisure to relax or explore Bay of Islands on your own. Overnight at Hotel in Bay of Islands. Day 04 Bay of Islands - Auckland After breakfast, check out and proceed by your rental car back to Auckland. Arrive at Auckland and check in at hotel. Auckland is New Zealand s biggest city with breathtaking scenery, walks, holiday islands, outstanding food and wine, great shopping and exciting nightlife. Proceed for your half day city tour of Auckland - Travel through the city centre, along Karangahape Road with its chequered past and eclectic vibe, past fashionable Ponsonby and over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, enjoying views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline. Visit the Viaduct Harbour and Auckland's famous Queen Street before continuing to the Auckland Domain. The Domain is the city's oldest park and, at 75 hectares, one of its largest. Developed around an extinct volcano, it features tropical gardens, duck ponds and public art, and is also home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. After visiting the Domain, the tour continues to Parnell Village for a morning tea stop. The historic buildings of Parnell have been transformed into a trendy shopping area featuring a range of boutiques, craft and specialty stores. The tour will then take you along the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, above Mission Bay. Named after one of New Zealand's most revered Prime Ministers, the park, with its formal gardens and tranquil atmosphere, offers a panoramic outlook over the picturesque Eastern Bays, Auckland city and the Waitemata Harbour. Then get up close with the diverse local marine life at the famous Kelly Tarlton s Underwater World, just five minutes from downtown - Set on the waterfront of Auckland City on Okahu Bay, just moments from the famous Mission Bay beach, Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium is one of Auckland's top attractions! Kelly Tarlton's showcases over 30 live animal exhibits in spectacular habitat displays, including the world's largest Antarctic penguin colony exhibit and amazing underwater viewing tunnels. The fantastic Animal Adventures offer unique and thrilling 'up close' underwater encounters with huge sharks, including the all new Shark Dive Xtreme and Shark Cage experience. You can also head out onto the ice to get up close to our amazing penguins with Penguin Discovery. Afternoon is at leisure visit the Sky Tower at Sky City Auckland - A truly captivating experience awaits visitors to Auckland's Sky Tower. At 328 metres, it is the tallest manmade structure in New Zealand and offers breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometres in every direction. Travel up in the glass-fronted lifts to one of the three spectacular viewing platforms, or for more thrills and excitement, SkyWalk round the pergola at 192 metres up or SkyJump. Sky Tower is one of New Zealand's most exhilarating and spectacular tourist attractions, you will be amazed at what you can see and do under one roof! Please note in October 2015 they ll be launching a new lift up to the Sky Deck (Level 60). Overnight at hotel in Auckland. Day 05 Auckland - Hamilton After breakfast, check out and proceed by your self-drive vehicle to Hamilton. 127 km (79 miles) Approximately 1.5 hours. Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, is situated between two enormous harbours and dotted with 48 extinct volcanic cones. It's a place to enjoy marine adventures, wine trails, forest walks and urban sophistication. As you cruise down the southern motorway, suburban scenery gradually gives way to the farmland of South Auckland, an area favoured by bloodstock breeders. You'll enjoy motorway speeds all the way to Bombay, a major market gardening area. The Waikato River will accompany you for much of your journey through the green countryside. Places of interest along the way include the wine growing area of Te Kauwhata and the coal mining town of Huntly. Before you get to Hamilton, you'll notice side roads leading to Waingaro Hot Springs and Raglan, a surf resort on the west coast. The city of Hamilton is carved in two by the mighty Waikato River. Attractions include gardens, riverboat cruising and a giant free flight aviary. Excellent restaurants and cafes can be found at the southern end of the city's main street. After reaching Hamilton, check in at your hotel. Visit the Waitomo Glowworm Caves - are world renowned New Zealand tourist attraction.

Thousands of the tiny glowworms each give off a small amount of luminescent light. Combined they enable to roof and walls of the caves to glow in the dark. Young or old, this natural phenomena is a true marvel. Then visit the Hamilton Gardens - the gardens have free entry. Interestingly, the gardens are the largest tourist attraction in the Waikato Region, but it's not hard to see why. Hectares of fresh foliage, green open spaces and themed, manicured gardens make this a must visit in Hamilton. Of particular note are the themed gardens. Styles range from Japanese, Indian, English, Italian and more. Extensive landscaping and sculptures really top off this stunning setting beside the Waikato River. Rose gardens are a specialty with many rare varieties on display. The range of plants and foliage across the entire grounds is astounding. In the works is also a Maori Garden. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Hamilton. Day 06 Hamilton After breakfast, proceed to visit Hamilton Zoo has been delighting families in the Waikato since 1969. Located northwest of Hamilton, it is surrounded by lush green fields - a great location to house all manner of animals big and small. This well-established Zoo is home to over 600 animals across the key species: Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds. You'll encounter animals native to New Zealand such as the Tuatara, to exotic animals such as the Sumatran Tiger, White Rhino and of course, Monkeys. There is also a free flight aviary to watch the resident bird population. The zoo has a special programme called Face2Face. For $15 on top of your admission, you can book in to encounter a Chimp, Tiger, Rhino or Lemur up close and personal with the guidance of the zookeeper. If you dare! Then visit the SkyCity Casino SkyCity Hamilton is the only casino in the Waikato and has long been a favourite entertainment venue for locals and visitors alike. What a great night out: Drinks, dinner, a show, then try your luck in the casino! Open 24 hours a day, SkyCity casino provides a fun place where you can party any time of the day. There are all manner of traditional table games like Black Jack, Roulette and Baccarat. There are also restaurants and bars inside the SkyCity Casino. There is also Family entertainment - While the gaming areas are R20, Level 2 at Sky City is the Family Zone. Knock down the pins at the exciting Bowlevard bowling Alley. For team action there is the Megazone Laser Tag, which is also good for birthday parties. TimeZone is the games section where you can challenge family members. Also visit the Waikato Stadium - Waikato Stadium is the key location for major sporting and cultural events in the Waikato Region. Home to The Chiefs Super Rugby Team, and the Waikato Provincial Rugby Team, the stadium is best known for hosting Rugby games. The stadium has a capacity of 25,800 across 4 stands. Day 07 Hamilton Lake Taupo After breakfast,check out and proceed by your self-drive vehicle to Lake Taupo 1 hr 45 min. Lake Taupo is nature s ultimate playground. If you re into the outdoors, Wellington has action-packed adventure activities like mountain biking and sea-water kayaking, as well as beautiful walks around the harbor and surrounding hills. In Thorndon, New Zealand's oldest suburb, visit the magnificent Parliament buildings and gorgeous Old St Paul's Cathedral. See the famous Beehive, the seat of government.
