March 2018 program guide Celtic Woman Homecoming: Ireland Monday, March 5 at 7pm Saturday, March 10 at 5pm Thursday, March 15 at 8:30pm Volume 33 Number 3

GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE We have a special opportunity for WyomingPBS Members to Meet and Greet the performers of Celtic Women when they perform in Cheyenne on May 25. Watch our broadcast of Celtic Women Homecoming: Ireland on March 5 for more details. We also have two new Our Wyoming features premiering online on March, Big Horn Sheep March 12 and Dave the Blacksmith March 26. Watch them at wyomingpbs.org/ourwyoming, facebook. com/wyomingpbs, or youtube.com/ wyomingpbs. The WyomingPBS YouTube channel is an increasingly popular way to watch our programs. In the last 30 days, Over Wyoming has been viewed over 100,000 times; Blizzard of 49 over 90,000 times; and Farm 2 Fork s Goats Eat Weeds over 50,000 times. 25% of these views are outside the United States, so people all over the world are learning about Wyoming. You can watch all WyomingPBS local productions at youtube.com/wyomingpbs. Speaking of learning about Wyoming, Wyoming teachers have new resources available to them this month. Learning Objects taken from the WyomingPBS production Migrations and The Blizzard of 49 were added to the WyomingPBS Learning Media Library (wyomingpbs.org/ learningmedia.) Lesson plans aligned to 3rd grade, 5th grade, Middle School, and High School STEM standards have been added. A Learning Object and lesson plan on the Shoshone Parfleche have been added to both the WyomingPBS Learning Media Library and the Wind River Reservation Education Project website, windriveredu.org. The Wind River Reservation Education Project was recently honored with a national award for Excellence in the Instructional Media category at the annual National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) conference. We are proud to have partnered with tribal members, elders, and educators to help tell the story of the tribes who call Wind River home. You can read more on Page 13. Many of you have asked about the public screenings of The Bozeman Trail scheduled in February. There are so many wonderful stories to tell about the Trail, that we ve delayed premiere of the show to later in the year. We ll reschedule our screenings as soon as we can. As an extension of our coverage of the Wyoming Legislature, we will be live streaming and archiving up to 10 public Legislative Hearings between April and December. Other State of Wyoming Departments have contacted us about live streaming their public hearings as well. We ll keep you updated as we develop firm plans for this service. Finally, March is our Spring Membership Drive. Please use this opportunity to renew or even make an additional gift to the WyomingPBS family. Thank you for watching, and thank you for your support!
