October 13, 2016 Dear Retreater, The enclosed information is what you need to know before coming to the retreat, including what to bring, driving directions, and the entry gate code for The Shores after-hours. What to bring: Your own towels and bedding (towels, pillow, sheets or sleeping bag), toiletries, flashlight, rugged sneakers/outdoor shoes, Bible, pen, and camp chairs. If fishing, bring rod, tackle, boat and current Texas Fishing License; if golfing, bring your clubs; if mountain biking, bring your bike and gear. More info on the activities sheet enclosed. Check-in at The Shores of Pine Cove: 5-7 p.m. (dinner at 7 p.m.; see enclosed schedule for more details). Late Arrivers: The Shores gate may lock at 7 p.m. The code to open it is 5109. If you arrive after 7 p.m., use the code to get in, follow SCC signs to parking, and check-in at the dining hall during dinner or at the gym after session one. Meet Sixto in the church parking lot, Parkwood side Park your car at SCC (at the North end of the West parking lot - Parkwood Blvd side of church campus). Directions to Pine Cove: See attached sheets (from Frisco, approximately 2 ½ hours to Pine Cove). Closer to camp, SCC signs will guide you in to retreat parking and check-in. AVAILABLE WEEKEND ACTIVITIES See retreat schedule for times and availability. Fishing species of fish: largemouth bass, white & striped bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish (lake record: 14.77lbs, hybrid striped bass). B.Y.O.R (bring your own rod) - you can fish from the pier or B.Y.O.B. (bring your own boat*) and chase after the big ones. Maybe some of the camp veterans will be willing to share a few fish stories from last year! MUST HAVE A VALID TEXAS FISHING LICENSE. * Boat ramp for Lake Palestine: www.thevillagesmarina.com (903) 561-1413 Golf if you re interested in golfing during the free time on Saturday (1:00 5:30 pm), reserve your tee times ahead of time at the following municipal golf course in the area. Usually get Tee times at Oak Hurst 1:08 and 1:16. Rates are $51 for 18 holes, $35 for 9 holes. This is the closest course to Pine Cove. Have you ever wanted to see the world from the perspective of a flying squirrel? Do you have a fear of heights? Face your fears here. Take a ride on the zip line. Basketball dust off your old high-tops because you re going to need them. There will be open play in the Gym. Soccer open play on the Field. Get your cleats ready! Frisbee Golf (a.k.a. Disc Golf) whether you are an enthusiast or a beginner this challenging game covers the entire campground - fun for all levels. Open play. PLUS these other fun activities: round the clock free snacks and drinks, Friday and Saturday night movies, late night board games in the dining hall Backroom, hiking, and bonfires.

Turn left onto Hwy 64, and go approximately 10 miles. 4. Turn right, south, onto FM 2661 and go approximately 3.2 miles to traffic lights at Hwy 31. 5. Cross Hwy 31; continue south on FM 2661, and go approximately 5.6 miles (ignore the Pine Cove sign to your left, Pine Cove Conference Center ). 6. Turn right at the Pine Cove Ranch, Shores, Bluffs sign (look for the red SCC signs). Late Arrivals: if gate is locked, enter 5109 7. Take 1 st left at South Shores sign. 8. Stay left (2 nd left) at Lower Shores sign. 9. At 3 rd fork, stay left (3 rd left); road will take you into The Shores camp area. Men will help guide you to parking and check-in. North Directions to Pine Cove (longer/scenic route) 1. Hwy 380 East, to Greenville. 2. South on Highway 69, pass under I-20 and continue to Tyler, Loop 323. 3. Turn right on Loop 323. This is the West side of the loop; head South on Loop 323 to Highway 31, approximately 3 miles 4. Turn right, West on Highway 31, and go approximately 5 miles to FM 2661 5. Turn left, south on FM 2661, at the traffic light 6. Go 5.6 miles south on FM 2661 (ignore the Pine Cove sign to your left, Pine Cove Conference Center.) 7.
