TOUR BOOKLET CREDO CHOIR MELBOURNE & SYDNEY with CAIRNS EXTENSION JUNE 2016 Your World of Music

Your World of Music

Dear CREDO Choir Tour Member, We share in your excitement that your trip to Australia is finally almost here. This tour booklet provides an outline of the highlights of your trip and a detailed itinerary with flight and hotel details for you and those at home who may want to contact you. It also includes information that will be useful while you are in Australia. All the information is subject to change due to any circumstances beyond our control. Name Badge Please wear this upon arrival in Melbourne so that our staff can recognize you and whenever you are participating in a tour program. Baggage Tags Be sure that each of your bags, including your check-in bag, has a completed KIconcerts baggage tag affixed. Other things to note: Visa The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) has been issued electronically in conjunction with your airline ticket. You just need to present your valid passport at airport check-in. Airline Tickets Your airline ticket is an electronic ticket. A copy is not necessary for airport check-in as long as you have your passport and flight information. Passport Your passport is vital. Take care of it at all times. Do not pack it in your check-in baggage and do not leave it lying around. Keep a copy of your passport separate from your passport. And finally, we wish you a very pleasant and memorable time. - KIconcerts Team CREDO CHOIR Page 3

PERFORMANCE June 11, 2016 Concert as part of Melbourne International Singers Festival at Deakin Edge Theatre, Foundation Square, Melbourne The Deakin Edge is a stunning glass theatre offering views across the Yarra River to the Arts Centre Spire, the MCG and Alexandra Gardens. Located in the heart of Melbourne at Federation Square, it has become a popular venue for small to medium-sized musical and theatrical performances, seminars, public forums, corporate functions, product launches and presentations. Page 4

PERFORMANCE June 12, 2016 Participation in the Melbourne International Singers Festival including performance of Street Requiem at Melbourne Recital Centre Intimate and acoustically superb, Elisabeth Murdoch Hall features exquisite architectural design and world class technical facilities. Drawing influence from the traditional box shape of European concert halls, it is lined with plywood panels of Australian plantation Hoop Pine timber, designed to resemble the back of an instrument and provide greater acoustic intimacy across the auditorium. Comprising a raked stalls level, circle, distinctive split-level balconies and a stepped platform ceiling, the platform acoustics enrich the strength, clarity and blending of instruments as well as the communication between ensemble players on stage. A brilliant marriage of the classical and the progressive, Elisabeth Murdoch Hall is the perfect music venue for small and medium-sized ensembles, orchestras, solo artists, choral works as well as performances of the spoken word. Named after the Centre s Founding Patron Dame Elisabeth Murdoch AC DBE, the Hall truly is a living space for making, sharing and enjoying great music. CREDO CHOIR Page 5

PERFORMANCE June 15, 2016 Open Rehearsal with members of Café of the Gate of Salvation Choir at St Mary s Catholic Church, Erskineville The parish began with a small wooden church (that had originally been a protestant church) at in Erskineville in 1862. Archbishop Polding gave it the name St Mary of the Suburbs. This was the first church in Australia to be placed under the patronage of Mary as Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. Fr P.J. Kerwick succeeded Fr Bridge and saw the project through to its completion. Page 6

PERFORMANCE June 16, 2016 Lunchtime concert at the Wayside Chapel, Potts Point The Wayside Chapel has provided unconditional love, care and support for people on and around the streets of Kings Cross since 1964. Under the banner of love over hate, The Wayside Chapel strives to create a community where there is no us and them by breaking down the barriers of judgment and providing a safe place where people from all walks of life are welcome just to be. Our programs and services are designed to ensure the most marginalised members of our community have access to essential health, welfare, social and recreational services. CREDO CHOIR Page 7
