Ohio University Alumni Association Autumn in Provence Burgundy Beaujolais Cruising the Rhône and Saône Rivers aboard the Deluxe Small River Ship Amadeus Provence October 31 to November 8, 2018

Dear Alumni and Friends, Join us for this exclusive, nine-day French sojourn in Provence and the wine regions of Burgundy and Beaujolais en automne (in autumn), an exceptional time of year to visit, when woodland hillsides are crisp with auburn and the region s famous flora is vibrant throughout the enchanting French countryside. Cruise for seven nights from historic Lyon to Provençal Arles along the fabled Rivers Rhône and Saône aboard the deluxe Amadeus Provence, launched in 2017. During your intimate small ship cruise, dock in the heart of each port town and visit six UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Roman city of Orange, the medieval Papal Palace of Avignon and the wonderfully preserved Roman Amphitheater in Arles. Tour the legendary 15 th century Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune, famous for its intricate and colorful tiled roof, and picturesque Lyon, France s gastronomique gateway. Enjoy an excursion to the Beaujolais vineyards for a private tour, world-class piano concert and wine tasting at the Château Montmelas, guided by the châtelaine, and visit the Burgundy region for an exclusive tour of Château de Rully, a medieval fortress among the vineyards which has belonged to the family of your guide, Count de Ternay, since the 12 th century. A perennial favorite, this exclusive travel program is the quintessential Provençal experience and an excellent value featuring a comprehensive itinerary through the south of France in the peak of its autumnal glory. I encourage you to book now while Early Booking Savings and space are still available! Sincerely, Your Ohio University Alumni Travel Team

La Beauté dans toutes les choses françaises The Beauty in all Things French French author Albert Camus once wrote, Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower, evoking the incomparable amber of fall s harvest the cozy splendor of early November, and the French spirit in which each object is one of beauty. Here, leaves redden like magnificent flowers, a quaint streetside café once served as Van Gogh s muse and a medieval fortress evolves into a renowned wine estate. In autumnal Provence, all the glories of southern France, le Midi to locals, are gracefully steeped into the scenery. These wonders await your discovery during this idyllic sojourn on medieval bridges spanning the Rhône, in abundant Burgundy vineyards and their stately châteaux, in the enchanting quarters of Lyon and in the preservation of Provence s extraordinary Roman ruins, where great history and beauty have been intertwined for centuries. Experience the French joie de vivre firsthand as you explore its fairy tale villages and countryside, which remain highly refined and influential cultural tastemakers across the globe. One-of-a-kind itinerary. Visits to six UNESCO World Heritage sites. At least one port call each day. All shore excursions included.
