PARENT & SON/DAUGHTER TRAVEL INFORMATION You are responsible for your travel to and from JH Ranch. Most guests fly into one of the following airports (listed in order of popularity) and rent a car to drive the rest of the way to JH Ranch. Typically guests say that flying Southwest or Delta are the best options. EXAMPLE DATES: If your program is scheduled as June 1 to June 8, you will check-in on the night of June 1 and depart on the morning of June 8. FLY-IN JUNE 1 FLY OUT JUNE 8 Sacramento, CA (SMF) - 4:30 hours approximate drive Medford, OR (MFR) - 1:50 hours approximate drive San Francisco, CA (SFO) - 6:15 hours approximate drive Redding, CA (RDD) - 2:30 hours approximate drive Depending upon the airport you fly into, your drive time will vary, so please plan your total travel time when booking your flight. If you choose to travel by the coast, be mindful that this route will take an additional 4 hours making this approximately a 9 hour drive. Once you pass through the town of Etna, it is 4 miles down HWY 3 to French Creek Road. After this turn, it is another 4 miles to the JH Ranch entrance. ARRIVAL: Check-in will be between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM on your arrival night. Please note that dinner will NOT be served at the Ranch on arrival night, so be sure to eat before you arrive. We recommend eating dinner in the small city of Yreka, about 45-minutes from the Ranch. ARRIVING LATE? Not a problem. Just give us a call at 800.242.1224 and let us know about the delay in your travel plans. When you arrive, you will drive up Lodge Hill where a staff member will be on-duty throughout the night to welcome you and take you to your cabin. DEPARTURE: Your final evening will be a closing banquet that usually concludes by 11:00 PM. Guests are free to depart anytime after this banquet. A continental breakfast will be available the following morning (the last listed day of your program). (For example, if your program date ends on Saturday, the closing banquet is Friday night and Saturday is your travel day)

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW DRIVING: When driving to and from JH Ranch, please watch for deer and respect local residents by observing the speed limits, especially on French Creek Road. Also note, California enforces a hand s free cell phone law. VALUABLES: We advise our guests to leave expensive jewelry, electronic devices, sunglasses, etc. at home. JH Ranch will not be responsible for any lost or stolen valuables. However, a locked safe is available if needed. CELL PHONES: We highly suggest turning your cell phone off while you re with us for your week. We guarantee you ll appreciate this rare opportunity to fully disconnect from the buzzes, beeps, and rings for a full week. Not all carriers have coverage at the Ranch. CAMERAS: Bring a camera! Some guests wish to use their smartphone as a camera. We understand the convenience, but don t recommend it. Just keep in mind that you re responsible for keeping up with your things and for any damage that might incur during the week. We have staff photographers who will post photos daily and these photos are available for you to download. TRADING POST: We have a Trading Post with clothing, books, CDs, and more for sale, so you may want to leave a little extra space in your bag. STAYING WARM: Every year, our Trading Post sells a lot of sweatshirts to guests who don t bring warm enough clothing. Even though it s hot and dry during the day, it can get very cold in the evenings, so bring warm layers! LOST AND FOUND: If you have lost something, please contact us as soon as possible as items that remain unclaimed by September 1st will be donated to Goodwill. BIRTHDAY POLICY: If your loved one is celebrating a birthday during their time with us, please let us know! We would love to include them in our birthday celebration at the end of the week. SNACKS AND COFFEE: We wouldn t be telling you the whole truth if we didn t tell you that we have a delicious Snack Bar and Coffee Bar on the property. DISCRETIONARY SPENDING: We suggest that you set aside about $150 in discretionary spending money for your time at the Ranch. While at the Ranch, you will have the opportunity to purchase items from our Snack Bar and Trading Post. You will also need money for meals while traveling to and from the Ranch. We recommend setting up a convenient spending account while you re here, which is linked to your name tag. FORMS & WAIVER PACKET: If you haven t already, take advantage of this reminder by going to your account online at www.jhranch. com to finish filling out all necessary forms. FINAL DETAILS: Please be looking for some very important information regarding your program that will be emailed to you about 8 weeks before your program s start date. PACKAGES AND MAIL: We love delivering letters and postcards from home to our guests. However, we ask that you do NOT send packages as they quickly overwhelm our local post office. Please have mail sent to: JH Ranch Attn: [Your Name Here] 8525 Homestead Lane Etna, CA 96027 PROHIBITED ITEMS: Please be aware that chewing tobacco, cigarettes, alcohol, marijuana and illicit drugs are strictly prohibited at the Ranch. Violation of this policy and any inappropriate behavior disruptive to the program will result in a guest being asked to leave without a refund.
