Artist Bio Versatile, award winning singer-songwriter, Dan Fisk, brings a dynamic brand of acoustic rock to venues up-and-down the east coast. Voted as one of Washington, DC s Hottest 5 musicians in 2010 and featured in the DC Metromix primetime special on CBS (WUSA*9), he is quickly rising through the ranks and garnering notice. Drawing comparisons to fellow Virginia natives Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, and Pat McGee, Fisk s ability to write memorable melodies and his trademark percussive guitar-style have brought crowds and gained him a loyal fan base. Described as having a rhythmic, often chunky playing style, Fisk has spent more than a decade perfecting his sound. During solo performances he is able to showcase his guitar playing and vocal talents, letting the intricacies of his songwriting shine while infusing cover songs with his distinctive sound. The power of his performances can be heard with his full band on the 2008 album, Sight Lines. As a full time musician, Fisk has worked hard at every aspect of being a DIY independent artist. He s found it to be an inspiring challenge wearing many hats. Yes, he is the singer and the songwriter but finds the time, energy and talent to manage tasks from being the admin to acting as CEO of his own brand. Playing as many as 15 shows a month, his around the clock dedication to music shines through in every song. Fisk is currently working on his first solo EP which will feature the award winning song, A Thousand Love Songs. The album will also include inspired collaborations with some of DC s finest musicians; such as cellist Katie Chambers and local legend, Ted Garber. Look for the debut of the new EP titled Bruises from the Backseat to be released this spring.
