Here, set within a 180 acre golf resort, you can host a truly sublime retreat. Guests of the chateau can take advantage of the hotel spa nearby for free, where 3 swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a sauna, and a fitness room are at your disposal. Reduced rates on spa services and golf are yet another courtesy included with your stay. The estate includes both the main chateau, and two separate apartments in the righthand wing. This 17th century property feels like a relaxed, traditional countryside home; you ll love the worn wooden beams overhead and many windows. Imagine tea outside on the terrace, a sense of complete privacy and ease (thanks, in part, to the moat surrounding the courtyard!) For an adventure, horseback riding can be found at Les Crins Blancs, 2 kms down the road. The nearest major town is La Châtre, 10 km north. Here we recommend the Parc des Parelles for hiking, or simply exploring the dear boutiques and restaurants in town. Interior & Grounds The Chateau's central part features seven bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, a large lounge/dining room on the ground floor, several lounges, a sauna and a pool room. The 5 bedroom apartment which is in the Château's right wing features 3 bathrooms,2 of which are en suite, a lounge and a kitchen. Location & Local Information Located in the heart of France and the Black Valley, in an area rich with cultural and historical heritage and green landscapes, Chateau Drades is undoubtedly an exceptional place where luxury and romanticism combine. The Chateau is situated in the first line of a stunning golf course. A few hundred metres from the Chateau, the Hotel features a Spa, a bar and several restaurants. As residents of the Chateau, you will have free access to the Spa. The Spa features an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor swimming pool, a pool with salted water, jacuzzi, a sauna and a fitness room. You will also benefit from special rates to play on the 18-hole golf course. Tennis courts can also be used free of charge and mountain bikes can be rented in the resort. The Chateau is based in Pouligny Notre Dame, a small town where you will find a small supermarket and a hairdresser. Near Chateau Drades, there are the following sports and cultural activities: - The equestrian centre Les Crins Blancs (2 kms from the chateau) - Maison Jour de Fête, dedicated to the famous French director Jacques Tati (6 kms from the château). - The house of the famous female writer George Sand (12 kms from the château).
