PRESCHOOL CAMPS: AGES 4-5 Mornings: Mon - Fri: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Half Pint Camp, ages 4-5: This camp was designed with our youngest campers in mind. From 9am-1pm campers will be enjoying fun games, activities, and engaging with counselors who care. Campers will visit our playground, wading pool and other special destinations around Cherokee Y Camp. *Drop off at 9am and pick-up at 1pm. DOB cutoff date is the registered week of camp. Rising Kindergarteners must be age 5 to attend full day camp. All campers will participate in Traditional Camp activities. Splash Camp ages 5-8: This one week camp allows campers to extra time at the pool than a traditional camper. If your camper loves to swim and play in the water they will get an additional hour of pool time to fill that need for fun. This camp does not include swim lessons but does include an additional hour at the pool. Sessions 1-9 MEM: $185 PRO: $205 Swim Camp ages 5-8: These are beginner/advanced beginner level classes. Campers will participate in traditional camp games and activities, including a daily trip to the pool for free swim. Lessons will be given M-TH and Friday we will offer a make-up day in the event of inclement weather. These are beginner/advanced beginner level classes. Sessions 2-5 + 7-8 MEM: $185 PRO: $205 Sporties for Shorties ages 5-6: This camp provides the ultimate combo of youth sports and traditional camp excitement. Each day we will provide a hands-on introduction to a variety of different sports. Sessions 5, 6, 9 MEM: $170 PRO: $190
Science Camp ages 5-8: Join us for hands on science fun as it relates to the world around us through the theme of Earth Wonders. Monday-Water, Tuesday-Air, Wednesday-Rocks and Minerals, Thursday-Plants, and Friday-Animals. Sessions 5 + 9 MEM: $195 PRO: $215 Little Princess Camp ages 5-8: Each Little Princess will decorate their very own tiara and wand, learn etiquette manners for a tea party and have a spa day doing hair and nails. On Friday there will be a parade to share their royalty with the other campers. *Costumes and dress up are encouraged. Sessions 2, 6, 8 MEM: $165 PRO: $185 Little Jedi Camp ages 5-8: Every camper wants to learn the art of becoming a Jedi. Join this exclusive group as they train with soft light sabers, accomplish Jedi agility courses, and master self control through Jedi mind strength. On Fun Friday the newly inducted Jedi s will demonstrate their skills for other campers during a parade. *Costumes and dress up are encouraged. Sessions 3, 4, 5, 7 MEM: $165 PRO: $185
Arts & Crafts ages 5-8: If your camper enjoys art, making things and fun hands-on activities, then this is the camp! Campers will will enjoy a variety of age appropriate activities and projects with their counselor. Sessions 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 + 8 MEM: $165 PRO: $185 Jr. Outdoor Adventures ages 7-8: Campers will be introduced to shelter building, knot tying, fire building and fire safety, and much more. The highlight of each week is on Thursday, campers have a chance to test out their new skills by working together to set up a campsite and enjoying some marshmallow mania. Sessions 1-9 MEM: $180 PRO: $200 Soccer Skills Camp ages 7-12: This camp will allow campers to work on every aspect of the game including passing, shooting, dribbling, ball control, and all around technical skill development. We also include organized game times; which provides campers a opportunity to practice their new skills at game speed. Sessions 2, 3 + 8 MEM: $175 PRO: $195
Jr. Cake Boss ages 5-8: Does your camper like to bake and decorate? Campers will spend time at Cherokee Y Camp preparing different baked goods each day. Campers will learn the art of baking and decorating and of course, sampling their own baked goods. On Friday campers will show parents what they learned during the week. Sessions 3, 6, 8 + 9 MEM: $185 PRO: $205 Fishing Camp ages 7-12: Lake Allatoona is known for its great fishing. Fishing Camp allows campers take full advantage of this great resource. Campers spend a couple hours each day making new friends and engaging in a fun outdoor activity they will enjoy for a lifetime. Campers will have the opportunity to fish every day from our docks and along the camp s shoreline. Campers will learn about different species of fish, tackle, bait, handling of fish, safety and rigging. The Y will provide bait. Please do not bring any type of non traditional fishing gear. *Campers will need to bring their own t raditional pole and tackle. Horseback Camp ages 7-12: If love horses or even if you just want to try it out, this camp is for you! In this beginner s horseback riding program, campers will learn all the basics on riding and horsemanship including, how to properly groom, tack, and ride the horses. Campers will also learn barn safety, and the responsibility that go along with taking care of a horse and their environment. Our program teaches Western Style riding in our sand arena with the possible opportunity to go out on trail based on experience and comfort level. Every Friday, parents are invited out to watch the weekly Horse Show. Cherokee Y Camp will provide all helmets. *Campers will need to bring Long pants which are required and boots or shoes with a 1 inch heel are recommended. Sessions: 1-9 MEM: $245 PRO: $265 Drama + Theatre Camp ages 9-12: Campers will assemble to provide the best theatrical story production of the summer. Each camper will take part in organizing, rehearsing, and presenting a fabulous performance. Costumes, scripts, and the enjoyment of putting on a live performance will create an extraordinary opportunity to unleash a campers inner acting abilities. Sessions: 2 + 6 MEM: $160 PRO: $180
Outdoor Adventure ages 9-10: Getting out and enjoying the great outdoors is what Outdoor Adventure Camp is all about. Campers will learn skills and traits that will make them a more self-reliant outdoor camper for life. Campers will gain hands-on experience in advanced fire building techniques, knot tying, shelter and campsite set up, plant identification, archery, canoeing, trail etiquette, orienteering, maps reading and more! Every Thursday campers will in an overnight camp-out under the stars. Dinner will be provided by the YMCA and prepared by campers under the supervision of YMCA Staff. There will also be extra swim time in the evening with a lifeguard present. Breakfast and lunch is also included on Friday. Campers will test themselves with a week of fun and adventure! A complete list of overnight camping supplies will be provided the week of camp. Sessions: 1-9 MEM: $200 PRO: $220 Leather & Wood Camp ages 9-12: If your camper loves to work with their hands and make things this is the perfect class for them. Campers will create and design their own walking stick, leather keychain and I.D. bracelet. Camper will also gain hands-on experience also learning how to sand and stain wood while creating their own personalized name plaques. Trailblazers Camp ages 7-12: Trailblazers will have the opportunity to venture off camp property and travel to 3 beautiful locations all over central Georgia. Locations may include Kennesaw Mountain, Red Top Mtn., our overnight Y camp, local parks, and more. Sessions: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 + 8 MEM: $210 PRO: $230 Survivor Camp ages 11-13: Campers will use teamwork as they go into the wilderness to take on new outdoor challenges. Activities include climbing tower, shelter and fire building, campsite set-up, low ropes elements, canoeing, archery and more. Campers will experience an overnight campout on Thursday at the Y. There will also be extra swim time in the evening with a lifeguard present. Dinner, that night and breakfast and lunch is included the following day. A complete list of overnight camping supplies will be provided the week of camp. Sessions: 1-9 MEM: $200 PRO: $220 Water Sports Camp ages 9-15: Lake Allatoona is perfect place for boating and water sports. Campers will enjoy canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing, wakeboarding and knee boarding. Thank you to Marietta Marine for providing us with boats. Sessions 1-9 MEM: $220 PRO: $240
Volleyball Camp ages 9-12: Campers will participate in a variety of lessons and drills lead by experienced volleyball players. Campers will be working on overall technique including: serving, setting, bumping, teamwork, communication, and court awareness. We will be also leading structured game times to allow camper to put their skills to the test at game speed. Session: 7 MEM: $175 PRO: $195 Mountain Biking Camp ages 11-14: If riding through the mud and zipping down trails sounds like fun to you then this is your perfect camp. Campers will learn basic trail riding techniques, bicycle care and trail safety. Riders will explore the miles of trails here on the YMCA property, and travel to Blankets Creek Mountain Bike Course (if suitable) to improve skills on an actual mountain bike course. Mountain Bikes are provided by the YMCA with a fleet of Specialized Rockhopper Bikes. *Camper are required to always bring a helmet and plenty of water to drink. Campers are welcome to bring and use their own bike. Sessions: 2, 4, 7 + 9 MEM: $185 PRO: $205
SWIM CAMPS at the Canton Y Campers will participate in Traditional Camp activities. If a camper is signed up for Specialty Camp they will participate in the selected camp for 1-2 hours and also have fun doing Traditional Camp activities. Register By March 1, 2018 and save $10 on each week of camp! Swim -Tastic Camps (K-7th) ages 5-12: These camps will experience daily rotations through Y-USA Swim Lessons and pool time, sports, games, arts and crafts, team building and more! It offers a variety of opportunities that will help your child develop values, sportsmanship, life skills and friendships that will last a lifetime Sessions: 1-9 MEM: $200 PRO: $235 New Bus Service from Canton Y to our Woodstock Camp We are offering bus transportation to Cherokee Outdoor Y each day. Camper drop off in Canton: 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM. Pick up is between 5:45 PM and 6:15 PM. The fee for the bus service is $25/week and space is limited. To use the bus service, you must sign up for the bus when you register for camp at Cherokee Outdoor YMCA. At the Canton Y
TEEN LEADERSHIP CAMPS Mon - Fri: 9:00 am- 4:00 pm Navigators age 13-15: This is a full day leadership camp (7 Hours) that allows campers to learn and explore new and exciting themes each week while making new friends. Sessions: 1-9 MEM: $150 PRO: $170 Wrangers In Training (WIT) age 13-15: Learn more about our entire horse program and gain first-hand leadership experience. This immersive equestrian experience is designed for teens who want to learn more about riding, horsemanship, and leadership. Campers will focus on tack, feed, care, maintenance, equipment, safety and teamwork. This is one week of in camp training on how to operate the barn and share the love of horses with others. This program will assist with the flow of horse camp and will have hands on training from our Barn Manager and Riding Instructor. If suitable, there will also be opportunities to go out on trail and learn the fundamentals to a proper, safe, trail ride in large groups. If you love horses and you re a looking expand your experience and your skill set, than this is the perfect way to spend your week. Sessions: 1-9 MEM: $165 PRO: $185
TEEN LEADERSHIP CAMPS Mon - Fri: 9:00 am- 4:00 pm Leader In Training (LIT) age 14-15: Our YMCA staff is one of the best in the nation. If you are ready to start honing the skills and experiences you need to become a member of our outstanding staff team, this is your chance. Through this program teens will shadow seasoned counselors, learn skills and curriculums counselors need when running program areas, go through a written evaluation process, and prepare themselves for future staffing opportunities. Our LIT program creates impactful leaders who understand the importance of servitude leadership and leadership by example. During this week long camp teens engage in leadership development, problem-solving, task management, and group dynamic activities. Our activities are created to prepare our young leaders with experiences and training they need in order to take on more responsibility in our community and camp. The week will end with an opportunity to complete a service project to help the community. Along the way you will have tons of fun engaging in traditional camp activities.
