150s to Oshkosh Mass Arrival Guide AirVenture 2009 Cessna 150-152 Club

This guide highlights the special procedures used by the participants of the Cessna 150-152 to Oshkosh Mass Arrival, and may be used as a quick reference when flying into Oshkosh. WARNING This guide DOES NOT contain all the information you need to know about flying to AirVenture 2009. YOU MUST obtain, become thoroughly familiar with, and carry a copy of the official FAA AirVenture NOTAM when flying to Oshkosh when the Special Flight Procedures are in effect (6:00 am CDT 24 July thru 12:00 noon CDT 3 Aug 2009). Participants of the Cessna 150-152 Mass Arrival must also obtain, become thoroughly familiar with, and carry a copy of the FAA Oshkosh ATCT / Cessna 150-152 s to Oshkosh Letter of Agreement

Common Instructions Lead s call sign will be Cessna 150 Lead. Cessna 150 Lead will make position reports to Oshkosh Tower on 126.6 at 20 NM, 10 NM, and 5 NM. The last aircraft in the flight is designated Cessna 150 Tail. Cessna 150 Tail will report 5 NM from OSH and when clearing the runway All other aircraft will maintain radio silence. In the event that 126.6 is unusable, listen for instructions from Cessna 150 Lead. The alternate frequency is 118.5. DO NOT change to this frequency unless instructed to do so by Cessna 150 Lead or Oshkosh Tower. All aircraft will fly with transponders OFF or STBY. Landing at Oshkosh: All aircraft will be established on final approach in two staggered parallel streams. Pilots are responsible for separation on final approach, and on the runway. Pilots are reminded to expedite their taxi after landing to the appropriate turn off as other elements will be landing behind them. After exiting any runway, all aircraft will follow the EAA flag persons to parking. All aircraft maintain external watch, as duties permit. Use caution for : Heavy concentration of VFR arrival traffic in the vicinity of: o Ripon (15 NM s southwest of Oshkosh) o FISK (5 NM s southwest of Oshkosh). o FISK holding patterns around Rush Lake and Green Lake. High performance turbine and Warbird aircraft holding in the vicinity of Warbird Island (5 NM north of FDL)

Landing Procedure OSH Runway 9 Cessna 150 Lead will make position reports to Oshkosh Tower on 126.6 at 20 NM, 10 NM, and 5 NM west (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 9. Aircraft landing on the right side of the runway should exit to the right onto Runway 13, if possible, or exit the runway onto the grass between Runway 13 (GREEN DOT) and Taxiway A (ORANGE DOT). Aircraft landing on the left side of the runway should exit to the left onto the grass between Taxiway B1 (GREEN DOT) and Taxiway A (ORANGE DOT). Pilots that miss Taxiway A shall continue down the runway and follow the directions of the EAA flag person. In the event of a go-around, and unless otherwise directed by Oshkosh Tower, the affected aircraft will enter a left downwind and join in flight behind Cessna 150 Tail. Cessna 150 Tail will report 5 NM west (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 9 and when leaving the runway.

Landing Procedure OSH Runway 18 Cessna 150 Lead will make position reports to Oshkosh Tower on 126.6 at 20 NM, 10 NM, and 5 NM north (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 18R. Aircraft landing on the right side of the runway shall exit to the right on Taxiway P5. Aircraft landing on the left side of the runway shall exit to the left on Taxiway A5. NOTE The relocated threshold for Runway 18R is located abeam the control tower and is marked by a bright orange threshold marking and a large blue dot on the runway. All aircraft landing on Runway 18R must land on or beyond the blue dot. In the event of a go-around and unless otherwise directed by Oshkosh Tower, turn left and enter a left downwind and join in flight after Cessna 150 Tail. Cessna 150 Tail will report 5 NM north (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 18R and when leaving the runway.

Landing Procedure OSH Runway 27 Cessna 150 Lead will make position reports to Oshkosh Tower on 126.6 at 20 NM, 10 NM, and 5 NM east (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 27. All aircraft must land at or beyond the orange dot (located approximately 1,000 feet west of the displaced threshold of Runway 27). Aircraft landing on the right side of the runway shall exit to the right onto the grass between Taxiway B2 and B3 Aircraft landing on the left side of the runway shall exit to the left onto the grass after passing Runway 13. In the event of a go-around, and unless otherwise directed by Oshkosh Tower, the affected aircraft will enter a right downwind and join in flight after Cessna 150 Tail. Cessna 150 Tail will report 5 NM east (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 27 and when leaving the runway.

Landing Procedure OSH Runway 36 Cessna 150 Lead will make position reports to Oshkosh Tower on 126.6 at 20 NM, 10 NM, and 5 NM south (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 36. All aircraft will roll to the end of the runway In the event of a go-around, and unless otherwise directed by Oshkosh Tower, the affected aircraft will turn right so as to remain south of the intersection of Runway 13/31 and Runway 4/22. Aircraft will then enter a right downwind and join in flight behind Cessna 150 Tail. Cessna 150 Tail will report 5 NM south (straight-in) of OSH on final for Runway 36 and when leaving the runway.
