GENERAL INFORMATION DIETARY REQUIREMENTS Having dietary requirements is not usually a problem provided you let us know well in advance. PASSPORT, V/SA and VACCINATIONS British passport holders require a visa to enter Zambia. Visas can be obtained from the Zambian High Commission in London (address below). Visa fees for British nationals are US$50 for a single entry visa and US$80 for a double-entry visa. Single entry visit visas are available at all ports of entry, but multi-entry visas are not and must be applied for before travelling. You must hold a valid passport to enter Zambia. Your passport must be valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of entry into Zambia and have two blank pages. We are aware of a number of cases of British nationals being turned back due to the fact that their passport did not comply with this requirement. We insist that you have had a tetanus injection in the last ten years, and recommend protection against Polio, Hepatitis A and Typhoid and Yellow Fever if we are transiting from South Africa (you will need to have a certificate of proof ). There is also a risk of Malaria, so check with your GP or travel clinic. CLOTHING EQUIPMENT We know what you need! Therefore our equipment list will mean that you will be perfectly attired and outfitted for your whole trip and well under baggage allowance. We find most people already have in their possession what is necessary for a trekking trip and very little else in the way of specialised equipment is required. LUGGAGE Luggage is best carried in a large Kit bag (100 litres+). If you need help and support on what to buy please contact us. We can also sell you the kit you require through our extensive network of suppliers. WEAtHER There are three seasons: the dry season (mid-april to August), when temperatures drop at night, but the landscape is green and lush; the hot season (September to mid-november), the best time to see wildlife as flora is sparse; and, the wet season (mid-november to mid-april).
