The ISMR aims to be the preeminent interdisciplinary international organization in maxillofacial rehabilitation; advancing head and neck - maxillofacial rehabilitation together, through leadership, education, and outreach. Conferences are an essential tool to establish these aims, or inspire members or other attendees to help the ISMR to fulfill these. Venue of the 2016 conference will be the Crowne Plaza Belgrade. The theme of the conference, From Diagnosis to Palliation, will depict the multidisciplinary backbone of the ISMR, aiming for the best quality of life to be preserved or regained for the maxillofacial patient. Besides curing disease, the true value of oral and maxillofacial functional rehabilitation needs our full attention. All disciplines within the head and neck team, combining their knowledge and skills, as such make survival of head and neck cancer possible. Our patients stories are stories of hope, inspiring us to work together for the best possible result. At the Belgrade conference, we will track world leaders in advances in head and neck rehabilitation from diagnosis, including advanced and nuclear imaging, surgical simulation and its accurate implementation, to chemo radiation, rehabilitation and supportive care including dysphagia management and palliation. The 2016 biennial conference will offer its participants a wealth of educational opportunities, but also great opportunities to meet colleagues and start / maintain relationships in wonderful atmospheres.
