Invitation of our Regional Director, Interamerican Scout Region Dear sisters and brothers in scouting: Peru will be the place where we will meet again for the magical experience of the III Interamerican Scout Moot. The mythical area of Cusco will be the place where we can share together the joy of being part of the great World Scout Brotherhood, looking together at the great challenges that we are willing to overcome, looking fixedly at achieving the goal that our 2023 vision has set: 100 million Scouts. There could be no better place than Cusco to renew our commitment to Creating a Better World. A place rich in traditions and culture, will allow young people from Interamerica to gather in the Moot to learn about the Inca culture and also to show their own. It will be the space for coexistence and friendship. The time progresses slowly but decidedly to meet us all there, start preparing your backpack, put in much scout spirit, high doses of joy to live and leave space to keep many pleasant memories. A Program based on Cultural Richness of an Ancient Civilization III Interamerican Scout Moot will be held in Cusco, Peru, and is coming closer. Already hundreds of young people have confirmed their registration for this event named Walking together through America. The great expectation that has awakened this event commits us to offer the best conditions for an unforgettable experience. That is why we expect a maximum of 1800 participants and 200 EIS members, representatives of the 34 National Scout Organizations of the Interamerican Scout Region plus those who want join from other countries around the world. 3

It was part of a stone wall of an Inca palace, and is considered to be a national heritage object. The stone is currently part of a wall of the Palace of the Archbishop of Cusco. In the past it was the residence of Inca Roca, the sixth curaca of Cusco. Used in this logo to represent perfection, gigantic Inca constructions and the ancient history of this part of America. 4 Nombre del Evento Español

Inca Empire was the more extense in Pre-Columbian America s history. The territory was named Tahuantinsuyo (from Quechua the four regions or divisions: Chinchaysuyo, Collasuyo, Contisuyo and Antisuyo ), grew in the Andean zone of the continent between 15th and 16th century, as result of the Inca civilization. Was near 2 millions of square kilometers from Pacific Ocean to the Amazon rain forest. The Twelve Angle Stone is considered by many as the most representative figure of the perfection achieved in Inca architecture. We use its silhouette in the logo as a symbol of that greatness and solidity it represents for our culture. The Inca constructions lack elaborate decorations. The carving, sculpture, high or low reliefs were not used in an excessive or decorative way. The stones, which were very large, helped to make the constructions also large, so you can find several sites in the city of Cusco with gigantic stone monuments. Paucartika: Base Camp The Hacienda Paucartika, place selected to be the Base Camp, is at the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Lamay district, Calca province, Cusco. Its located at 56.5 Km. from Velasco Astete International Airport and 50 Km. from Historical Center of the city of Cusco. The surrounding grounds provide up to 6.5 hectares for the camping zone. This beautiful hacienda has its origins from the pre-incan era, its base is on the top of a pre-incan ceremonial huaca. Is surrounded by inca cultural testimonials, and its facilities are part of the renovated Hacienda Paucartika, which dates back to the 18th century. Still today the estate includes traditional constructions in the middle of a natural environment without equal, making it a unique space for rest, recreation, and culture. 6
Structure of a Contingent Participant: Is a young person who is between 18 to 25 years of age, member of an OSN attending the III Interamerican Scout Moot as part of a National Contingent (Delegation). The youth, men and/or women will be grouped in international teams of 10 members. Delegation Staff or CMT (Contingent Management Team): Is the team responsible for its own delegation or contingent. Young people of the same age as the participants are encouraged to participate in the Moot program or adults over 25 years of age who will assume IST roles. A member of the Delegation Staff shall act as Head of Delegation (See page 8). The participation fee of the Delegation Staff or CMT is the same as that of the participants. International Service Team (IST): Are adults or young adults, men and women, over 25 years of age, members of a contingent or national delegation, who applied to the International Service Team (IST), perform some of the scheduled tasks of the III Interamerican Scout Moot. IST members of a contingent can not exceed the number of young participants. The participation fee of the IST members is different from that of the participants or members of the Delegation Staff. The IST entry must be the morning of July 26th and the departure will be from the morning of August 6th. Meals will be included. Contingent or National Delegation: Is the grouping of young participants, members of the Delegation Staff or contingent and members of the International Service Team (IST) of the same National Scout Organization. The person who coordinates the contingent and acts as the spokesperson of the group is the Head of Delegation, credited as such by its NSO. 7
Head of Contingent For this case, he/she an adult volunteer 25 years of age, who accompanies the youth and accepted the responsibility of being the Head of Contingent All participating National Scout Organizations must appoint a Head of Contingent and accredit he/she to the organization of the III Interamerican Scout Moot, Peru 2018 by email. Heads of Contingent Meeting To provide and share information, visit the Base Camp and to know more about the activities, recognize the accesses, ways of communication and touch base for post Moot activities, there will be a Heads of Contingent Meeting of the III Interamerican Scout Moot Peru 2018, to be held with the following details: Date: Monday 27, Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 of November 2017 Venue: Hacienda Paucartika, Sacred Valley of the Incas, Cusco - Peru Fee: $180 (american dollars) per person which includes: Participant s Kit Transportation from Airport/Cusco - Hacienda - Airport/Cusco All meals from Lunch of Monday 27th to Breakfast of Wednesday 29th. Tour to the Sacred Valley Artisan/Textile Area (Pisaq) 02 nights at Hacienda Paucartika at the Sacred Valley of the Incas You can confirm your participation to the email: alfredo.musse@scout.org.pe until October 30th. Capacity is limited. All the members of your CMT are welcome to join the meeting. Presentations and multimedia material will be presented in English and Spanish. A Program walking the paths that Unite America! From July 27th. in the morning, contingents of participants will enter the site to join to join one of the four Sub Camps called Suyos (Suyo is a Quechua word meaning Region. It was one of the four major divisions that the Great Incan Empire had). The distribution will be according to the International Teams that will be formed in the coming months. 10
Three main areas: Tourism, Adventure and Service TOURISM is determined by two routes that teams will follow according to their schedule. This way participants will visit most of the attractions offered by Cusco. Places like Pisaq, Moray, Maras, Sacsayhuaman, Ollantaytambo, Puka Pucara, Chincheros, Tambomachay, among others are some of the destinations that, selectively will travel along the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the capital of Imperial Cusco. On the ADVENTURE area participants will practice some of the various adventure and extreme sports offered in Cusco, such as rafting, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, canopy and rappelling. In both the Tourism and Adventure areas we will wait for the information on the preferences or personal selections of participants activities until March 28th, 2018, when the registration process ends. 11
Live to Serve! In the SERVICE area, young people will be part of projects they have previously joined. They will be carried out in the Andean communities established throughout the Sacred Valley of the Incas. During a day, together with their international team, they will develop the actions prepared by themselves, aimed at improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of the communities. To this end, young people are expected to have community life experiences with families living in the region. Develop your potential In the Moot Base Camp, interspersed with these three axes of program activities, there will also be internal activities for the personal development, integration and exchange of experiences offered to participants in the framework of three major activities the Interamerican Development Village, International Day and Workshops. Interamerican Village The Interamerican Development Village is the space where national and international organizations will share actions as support for the different projects that Youth can develop in their countries or present at an international level, focusing on issues of peace, human rights, health, environment and others. 12
International Day The International Day is the moment designed for the contingents of the participating countries, as ambassadors of their culture, to share all the expressions of their regions in a carnival and exchange environment between the nations of the American continent and the world. Workshops Another area of interculturality are the Personal Development Workshops, where the participants will know and live the Andean traditions, art and culture as well as diverse techniques with specialists and professionals. Closing Ceremony Already towards the dusk of the last day, when friendship have become stronger, the camp life will have us united once again and we recognize that there are no borders but roads that, like the Qhapaq Ñan, unite us all, will arrive the moment of departure and finish the Moot as deserves this holiday of friendship. 13
An opportunity to celebrate the Global Centennial of Roverism Towards the dawn of August 1st., when the Andean communities of the ancient Tahuantinsuyo are preparing to celebrate the Feast of the Pachamama (Mother Earth), with the Pay to the land as a tribute or thanks for protection of their work and sustenance, Roverism celebrates its Centennial. The III Interamerican Scout Moot will be the unbeatable opportunity to join this great world celebration. That is why we will have an important ceremony to remember the commitment of challenge and service that the young people of America and the World have. Moot Nights At the end of each day, the nights will be the perfect time to celebrate friendship. Concerts, artistic expressions, contests, with a Cusqueño style Welcome, will be some of the activities waiting for you. Each contingent, in order to share some artistic expression of their country, can prepare and register to have all the necessary facilities for their show. 14
Meals at the Moot Cusco is considered the Archaeological Capital of America for its culture, archeology and also its gastronomy. In the III Interamerican Scout Moot you can taste some of these dishes, your food will be a representation of the Andean biodiversity. Among red and white meats, Andean grains, pastas, typical food and vegan. In the registration form you will find an option where you can indicate your preference, food based on meat or vegan. 15
Registration and Fees In order to encourage the participation of a greater number of young people, a program of split payments has been established, these payments have indefectible closing dates. The payment includes transfers from the airport of Cusco and the bus station to the places of reception and from there to the place of the event and vice versa. Event kits are also included, alimentation from the dinner of July 27 th, until the breakfast of August 5 th. 16

Tourism Post Event Cusco is one of the most important tourist destinations in Peru. Offers its visitors a unique and spectacular way, a rich historical and monumental legacy, located between valleys and mountains, jungle and forests, beautiful lagoons and rivers. Cusco is considered Cultural World Heritage and its main tourist attraction is the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, declared one of the new seven wonders of humanity. In our next editions you will find the full range of Tourist Packages that we will offer to all participants and during the Meeting of Heads of Contingent we will have a Tourism Fair, where they can receive detailed information of these packages and share with contingents. * The visit to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu will be offered as a separate Tourist Package to complete after III Interamerican Scout Moot Peru 2018. 19
