It is suggested the nearest hotel zone in Comuma Providencia (4-5 km east from the venue) which has hotels of various categories and prices. Flights and ground transportation Airport Airport Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez (SCL) Santiago de Chile is located in Pudahuel (area norponiente) at about 18 kilometers from the town of Santiago Centro. Detailed information on how to get to and from the airport can be found on webpage: http://www.nuevopudahuel.cl Terrestrial public transport There is a ground transportation (buses) public character called Transantiago. This transport operates 24 hours a day (for certain hours of the night just some of the lines are active). Its cost ranges between 610-740 CLP and allows the combination with other buses and the Metro subway. The passes payment is made by denominda Bip card! L which can be purchased and recharged at Bip Service Centers or in subway ticket booths. Underground public transport (METRO) In Santiago there is an underground train called public character Metro. The Metro runs from 5:35 a.m. until 11:40 pm (Monday to Friday, weekends timelines are different) Like the Transantiago, you can buy a single ticket whose value varies with the time of day (Schedules Punta Valley and Lower). B. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Language In Chile the official language is Spanish. 2. Measuring system: In Chile the official measurement system is the international metric system. 3. Driving direction In Chile the vehicles travel on the right side 4. Power supply In Chile the Electricity standard voltage is 220V / 50Hz. Used Outlets are type C and L. Tipo C Tipo L 5. Weather Chile is a country with a great diversity of climates, in particular, Santiago, has a temperate climate with winter rains and drying seasons extended with minimum temperatures in winter, about 0 degrees Celsius and maximum in summer, around 37 degrees Celsius. During the month of November (spring) temperatures are between 4 to 5 degrees Celsius with mostly clear sky. 6. Health and hygiene recommendations At this time of year it is recommended to use sunscreen if you are going to have exposure to the sun. Most UV radiation is concentrated between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. During this spring season, an increase in cases of allergies due to pollen circulating in the environment occurs. It is recommended to take the necessary precautions (drugs, mask, etc.) to avoid the inconvenience caused by this immune reaction. Santiago water is drinkable, but you get used to it gradually, is recommended to consume mineral water is available commercially. 7. Currency The Chilean peso (CLP) is legal tender in Chile. Most shops and hotels accept credit cards of international circulation (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club). Currency exchange is about: 1 US dollar (USD) 667 Chilean pesos. 8. The shopping centers have no legal noon break. The main coffee shops, pastries and pizzas are open from 9:00 am to midnight. The lunch usually served from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and dinner from 6:00 pm onwards. Some fast food outlets are open throughout the day. 10. Tips It is customary to give tips in cafes, hotels and restaurants worth 10% of the service. 11. Clothing: At the meetings, the use of formal dress code is recommended. 12. Other interesting information Chile is an independent free, sovereign and located in South America, with an estimated population of 18,191,884 inhabitants population by 2016. It has an area of 756,102.4 square kilometers and because of its extension has a variety of climates, ranging from desertic climate in the northern part of the country to a cold steppes in the southern part end. Chile limits to the north with Peru and Bolivia, the east with Argentina, south to Antartica and west by the Pacific Ocean. Its territory is organized into 15 regions. Chile's capital is the city of Santiago, a city that has a population of 6,158,080 inhabitants. - 5 -
