Different ways of visiting There are fun ways of visiting cities, turning what might be a cultural lecture into an adventure. For instance, guests can take bike tours, horse carriages, strolls or Segways. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a theatrical visit in which actors explain the monuments. The most innovative option is to use augmented reality glasses to see the places as they looked like in the past. Romería Recreate the fun and ambiance of the pilgrimage of El Rocío, one of the most important folkloric and religious events in Andalucía. Upon arriving, guests will be greeted with a glass of wine by a group of flamenco singers who will accompany them during the day. After the initial explanations, guests will take different transportation (horses, horse carriages or specially prepared vans) to begin the route. During the whole trip the group of singers will be playing and dancing with the guests and aperitifs will be served at the different stops. During the romería, the guests will have to face the different dangers of the countryside such as facing the assault of the rural bandits ( bandoleros ) Page 3
who try to will kidnap one or several of the guests. At the end of the day, the guests will have a lunch and party at the country house. Bullfighting lesson Learn the techniques of fighting a bull, such as how to use the capote or muleta (robes used to fight the bull) and how to move in front of the bull. These lessons are given by a professional bullfighter, and once finished, guests will have to prove their skills with an small bull on a capea (a bloodless bullfight with a young bull). Travel to the Sierra of Aracena to taste the best Jamón Serrano (ham), and visit Granada to see how the only Spanish caviar is produced. Tapas trail For guests in Spain, eating tapas is a must. The tradition says that the tapa was invented in Andalucía, where they used to put a slice of cheese on the mouth of the sherry glasses to avoid flies dropping into it. They used food as the tapa, which means lid. Now, tapas have become so popular that in the south you will hardly see anyone ever eating a full dish on its own in a restaurant. Everyone goes to have these small plates that they share with friends so that everyone tastes everything. Learning about Spanish traditions If you want to go back home as an expert on Andalusian traditions and secrets, you are in the right place. You will learn the secret language of the fans, how they are worn and what significance the colours have in a mantón de manila. You can learn the way to pour sherry wine or cut ham as a professional. You will understand who, where and when you could wear a mantilla or see how a bullfighter gets dressed for his performance.
