Hydrobuilder Grow Tent Packages - Package Assembly Instructions - Need Assistance or Have Questions? We want you to enjoy using your new grow equipment and are available for help Monday thru Friday 9-5PST at: 888-815-9763 and

Step 1 - Setup the Grow Tent The first thing we need to begin your tent package setup is an assembled grow tent. Separate your grow tent from the rest of the components in the package and build it according to the instructions included with the grow tent. Step 2 - Gather Your Tools For a hassle free system setup, we recommend gathering the following tools before proceeding with assembly. 1. Flathead screwdriver 2. Wire cutters or piers with wire cutting capabilities 3. Box cutter or scissors 4. Tape measure or ruler 5. Favorite cold beverage (it get s pretty hot in that tent) Step 3- Unbox the Package Un-Box the rest of the package components and confirm that you have everything you need. 1. Lighting system w/ cord 2. Inline fan 3. Carbon filter w/ pre-filter 4. Ratchet light hangers (2 per lighting system) 5. Duct clamps (x2) 6. Ducting 7. Timer Step 4 - Determine Ventilation Setup Now you will need to decide how you want to set up your ventilation/ odor control system. There are 3 common configurations; here are the pros and cons of each. (continued on next page) 2

Step 4-A - Hanging Inside the Tent This is going to be the most common and best solution for small to mid size carbon filters. The system is suspended from the tent roof so it s out of the way and maximizes the growing footprint. It also draws the air in through the filter allowing the air to move slower, thus increasing the effectiveness of odor removal. Step 4-B - Placed Inside the Tent This solution is suited for setups where the carbon filters are too large or heavy to hang and floor space is not a concern. Like setup A, the air is drawn through the filter for the most efficient odor control. The difference is that the filter and fan assembly it on the floor. This setup could draw more hot air down to your plants, so keep that in mind if you are using a lighting system that produces excess heat. Step 4-C - Placed Outside the Tent This is the least desired solution. With the filter and fan assembly on the outside of the tent you do save some growing space, but there are two major drawbacks. First being that the air is being sucked from the tent and pushed through the filter at high speed, decreasing the odor suppression effects of the filter. The second drawback being that fan noise is increased since it is located outside of the tent. This solution is usually used with very large carbon filters, or when space inside your grow tent is at an absolute premium.. Step 5 - Prepare the Carbon Filter Installing the air filtration/ odor control system. First you will need to slide the pre-filter onto the carbon filter and secure it with the included elastic bands. Depending on your setup choice from step 4, follow the following steps for setup A, B or C. 3

Step 5-A - Hanging Inside the Tent 1.Using one of the adjustable nylon straps included in the grow tent kit, hang the inline fan with the tapered end pointed towards the tent exhaust hole you want to use. Try to center the fan on the strap so it is balanced. 2. Using the remaining adjustable nylon strap from the grow tent kit, hang the carbon filter assembly with the flange pointed towards the inline fan. Try to center the fan on the strap so it is balanced. 3. Measure the distance from the beginning of the filter flange to the beginning of the inline fan flange. Cut that length of ducting using the box cutter and wire cutters. 4. Using the length of ducting you cut, secure one end to the fan flange using a ducting clamp. Secure the other end of the ducting to the carbon filter flange; no clamp is needed (this will be a tight fit). 5. Run the remaining length of ducting out of the exhaust hole of your choice, and secure the other end to the tapered end of the inline fan, using a duct clamp. 6. Run the fan power cord out of the nearest tent cord hole in the rear of the tent. 4

Step 5-B - Placed Inside the Tent 1. Set carbon filter assembly on the tent floor in desired location. 2. Place the inline fan on top of the filter with the tapered end pointed up. 3. Ensure that the fan flange is inside of the filter flange and secure with 1-2 wraps of foil ducting tape (not included) 4. Attach ducting to fan flange and secure with a ducting clap. 5. Run the ducting out of the desired grow tent ventilation opening. 6. Run the fan cord out of the nearest cord hole in the rear of the tent. Step 5-C - Placed Outside the Tent 1. Set carbon filter assembly on the floor in the desired location outside of the grow tent. 2. Place the inline fan on top of the filter with the tapered end pointed down. 3. Secure the fan to the filter with 1-2 wraps of foil duct tape (not included). 4. Attach the ducting to the fan with a duct clamp. 5. Run the ducting into the tent ventilation hole of your choice. 5

Step 6 - Hang the Lighting System 1. Using two ratchet hangers per light, hook the crossbar at the top of the tent with the hooks that are attached to the ratchet assemblies of the hangers. 2. Set the hooks attached to the rope end of the ratchets to equal lengths. 3. Place a hook in each of the two hanger brackets on the lighting system. 4. Run the light system power cord out of the nearest tent cord hole in the rear of the tent. 5. You can now adjust the height of the light by simultaneously pulling the two ratchet hanger ropes. You can lower the lights by pressing the tab in the ratchet assembly of the hangers. Be sure to hold onto the ropes when lowering so you can control your descent. Lighting Tips Adjusting the height of your lighting as the plants grow is essential. Different lighting types (LED, HID, etc.), lighting wattage, and reflector types all have recommendations regarding distance from plant canopies. Be sure to check the recommendations for your light(s). Be careful when installing bulbs and plugging in ballasts and light sockets. Damage to your lighting can occur if mistakes are made. If in doubt, give us a call. Water and electronics don t mix well. Avoid splashing water on your lighting equipment, including ballasts. New HID bulbs should be run for at least 12 hours on their first start-up to ensure maximum bulb life. When changing bulbs in HID lights, do not touch the glass with bare hands, oils from your hands can damage the bulb. Wear gloves to avoid this. 6

Step 7 - Install the Light/Fan Timer 1. Plug the light system cord into one side of the timer. 2. If you will be timing the fan as well, plug the fan power cord into the other side of the timer. Otherwise just plug it into a constant power source. 3. Plug the timer into a 120V wall socket, extension cord or power strip. 4. Follow the instructions included with the timer to set run times. That s it, You re Done! You re ready to add your plants and get growing. Before turning everything on be sure to double-check your electrical connections and hanging straps and hooks.
