Local artists and schoolchildren have been working on a series of giant lanterns based on this year s theme: the new play Breaking The Ice a true story about a polar bear who befriended a husky. The parade travels along Southgate Street, Westgate Street and College Street and is followed by a free carol concert at. An interactive, arctic adventure! Have you heard the astonishing true story about the polar bear who made friends with a Husky? Now a show has been created, inspired by their unlikely friendship. Join us on a journey into the snow where music, shadows and projection will transport you to a place where polar bears and huskies really can be friends. Betty Twinkle Father Christmas at King s Walk Christmas Market Santa Cruises Betty Twinkle Saturday 3 December 11am 3pm Betty Twinkle is an old Victorian fairy, full of cockney good cheer all around, riding on the back of Robin, her red breasted giant magical robin who seems to know who has or has not been good. Robin whistles classic Christmas songs whilst Betty works her magic with fairy dust, snow and chocolate gold coins for those whose behaviour passes Robin s rigorous tests.
