Crocus By: Brook Balazs Blooming faithfully to signal the end of the cold, The freezing, desolate, ice world that lingers Until the warm rays come to take Back the land and the lake From the frost and quiet that holds it. Purple and dainty the soft petals emerge Bowing down to their bright lord of the sky Then rising to salute with their pretty petals, To show Spring the change that has taken place, Revealing the return of buzzing life.
