The Itinerary Day 1: Australia - Moscow, Russia (In-Flight Meals) Today depart from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth for Moscow, Russia! The town is often included into the Golden Ring of Russia. See Uglich s Kremlin and Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood. The Cathedral was erected in 1485 in place of a dilapidated wooden church of the XIII century. Afterwards rejoin the ship, raise anchor and continue downstream towards Yaroslavl.
The Itinerary Day 8: Yaroslavl City Tour - Goritsy (B,L,D) After breakfast, a coach will take you through a city tour of Yaroslavl s UNESCO listed old quarter - well known for its 17th century temples. Among its highlights are the frescoes of Il ya the Prophet Church on the main square; Nikola Nadein Church, with its gilded baroque carvings; and the unique fifteen-dome Ioan Predtechi Church. Rejoin the ship for lunch and continue your cruise to Goritsy. Relax in the afternoon or join some activities onboard. Day 9: Goritsy Monastery of St. Cyril - Kizhi (B,L,D) This morning be delighted by the Russian Tea Ceremony onboard. In the afternoon, explore the picturesque river town of Goritsy. The highlight is the Resurrection Convent, which stands at the shoreline. From Goritsy, a bus will drive you to the nearby town of Kirillov to tour the Monastery of St. Cyril on the White Lake - one of the major Orthodox strongholds of Old Russia. Day 10: Kizhi Walking Tour - Mandrogui (B,L,D) Today dock on the island of Kizhi. Enjoy an afternoon walking tour of the island, which is located at the northern end of the Onega Lake, the second largest in Europe. The island is 7 km long, 1,5 wide, longwise and elongated. It was likely a site of pagan rites for Ugrian and Finnish tribes. The island first gained significance in the 14th century as a trading point between the White Sea to the north and the merchant-dominated city of Novgorod on the Volkhov River.
