(3) If the price goes up, I won t be able to give so many tickets away Price is less than most European festivals which are shorter and less fulfilling 14

Donations should be encouraged Essential to keep price down to ensure festival stays open to all, especially locals I could pay more if camp costs were less Good value for money Nowhere should be more creative in doing things without money L'argent qu'on met dans le billet est aussi de l'argent en moins pour les projets de camps I can t afford to pay more for three weeks of hard labour While I might be prepared to pay more, it is important that the lower bracket be kept low. I m fine with the higher end rising. Would be good to share expensive items such as gas and stoves and make them collectively owned True nature of a burn event is that people bring the festival and leave no trace. Keep this strict and costs should stay low Nowhere is more important than a few euros but make it a sensible amount so affordable to people of all pocket sizes Perhaps those who don t volunteer should pay more I am prepared to pay the current market rate I still think this is cheap for what you get Very expensive when coming from the States No more than 120 Euros considering it is run by volunteers and the facilities are minimal Wäre bereit, viel zu zahlen für ein entsprechenden "Gegenwert" eg mehr Vielfalt bei der Musikauswahl in MoN, bessere und neugebaute Toiletten (keine "Dixie-Klos") Getting a refund was a problem Lower ticket price equals more creativity as more open to people on low income Locals need cheaper tickets I would pay more to improve, enhance or maintain the festival at the already brilliant level Affordable ticket allowed us to offer something to Nowhere ourselves I would rather pay less for a ticket but do more work or bring things to offer to the community I couldn t even afford the bottom price Nowhere is really cheap compared to BM Price is about right Grateful for low income option The experience is worth more than I paid, but I would not have been able to experience it if not for the low income option 15

Arriving when there was nothing and seeing it grow and grow until we took it all away again. Magic 22

Did you have any negative experiences at Nowhere? Has tenido alguna experiencia negativa en Nowhere? Avez-vous eu des expériences négatives au Nowhere? Hai avuto esperienze negative nel corso di Nowhere? Hast du schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht in Nowhere? Top Twenty key words No 219 Mosquitoes 35 Yes 31 Drugs 19 Loud 12 Music 11 Toilets 11 Barrio 11 [Named individual] 9 Self inflicted 8 Heat 7 Stole 7 Injury 6 Work 6 Dust 6 Werkhaus 5 Crossed boundaries 5 Sex/Sexism 5 Rubbish/MOOP 6 Kids 4 Some of your comments I trod on a nail that came out of the beautiful coloured pyramid-art unfortunately that then scuppered my love of running around bare foot :( I think you guys under-estimated the amount of toilets you needed. I counted around 12, for about 1000 people. That comes to 83 people per toilet. Basically, more toilets would be better, I'm sure others will tell you the same Music was terrible this year especially in Ubertown. There was clearly a lack of organisation and communication between the barrios and NoInfo I lost my water bottle the last two days so kept forgetting to drink. My own fault! Except for being penetrated with a fishing rod, that was uninvited and unlubed None that tea and empathy couldn't solve I met some people who were there just for party and to see naked girls. They didn`t understand the concept of Nowhere. There were people who left all their rubbish and didn`t want to help. Une fois il n'y avait plus de papier au toilettes, c'était assez négatif I did not like people calling NW a festival instead of event I wasn't prepared for the amount of time my job took up. In the end I learned valuable lessons about asking for help, but at first I was completely overwhelmed. Some people were too stressed out at werkhaus one guy really abused the meditation we did in order to touch women, this was disgusting and shouldn't happen again. Should be more promoted that it s not a sex festival!! The last day when the buses changed times and everything was taken down, I was sitting under the shade at nowhere (where many other people where laying down and not working) and got kicked out on 23 the basis that I wasn't camping there in a really abrassive and rude manner Our camp lead was very hostile, not transparent with how our camp funds were spent and told lies about why budgets were exceeded, and had extremely bad attitude, didn't help at all People treating barrios like their fee entitled them to 'a service' Missing many events as the What Where When guide wasn't out A few disappointments when some workshops were cancelled, but that was not really unexpected... I need to take better care of my feet next time! The freedom of expression was really good but I found that a lot of people had inappropriate boundaries - not respecting that some people don't wish to take part in certain types of expressions I felt that there weren't enough volunteers supporting on some things. I think it leads to resources, and people's morale, being depleted. It felt as if some people had come for the weekend to just be spectators and get super fucked up. The phantom shitter! (Although that was pretty funny) Music is definitely too loud I found some of the people in Werkhaus were really domineering and although I had come to help they made me feel small Des moments de solitude dus à la barrière de la langue. I think kids under 5 Years shouldn t be alone on the dance floor in the night... Es gab keinen schlussevent! das fand ich sehr sehr schade! Too bloody hot again. Oh and I ripped my toenail off :( With the exception of a few strained moments with friends (largely due to dehydration), we all escaped mostly unscathed

Every time I had to use a curtainless toilet. Privacy is important to some! Disrespectful neighbours, too much noise, no fully silent times, feeling of being overwhelmed...) One man intimidated a few of my friends with negative, aggressive language, but they just walked away from him. Yes, my Nikon camera was taken and not returned...all pics lost. :( Too focused on drugs One person was not nice to me about bringing children Thought it was weird I had mobile reception and it was so easy to go into town took away from the experience. The mosquitoes were pretty annoying. People coming into camp and helping themselves even though they were not camping with us I prefer the toilets to be taller as I want my pooping intimacy. Better than last year though The floor was vibrating quite heavily when I tried to sleep at night due to the base in the music played all night. The mosquitoes. It may not be a bad idea to make is clearer how much of a fucker the mossies can be. I really was underprepared for them. Competing art cars and camp sound systems way too loud and distorting in a horrible way. A few more toilets needed. Art cars playing loud music should not be allowed up into the camping fields and need to moderate their volume when going past (or worse, parking in front of) other barrios. A proper 'quiet' field is needed, without any barrios or gennys The almost constant noise of the Italians was mindblowing I stood on a prickle walking barefoot in the hills Emotional ups and downs but that's all part of the fun... Only hangovers. I blew out my 3 flip-flops. Tragic! Drugs and sex all over the place was a little too much in your face - maybe there should be dedicated areas/tents for this, like at burning man? No ice on Sunday, and everything in Sariñena was closed :( People had defecated on the outside of the arena. [Les comptes sont ici : www.goingnowhere.org Ed] The art cars loudly roaming in quiet zones at 8am Yes, not enough toilets and placement of toilets facing directly into camping areas Our experiences in Werkhaus were very negative, there was very little communication with us, people in the kitchen and around that area were very rude, unfriendly and generally unhelpful. We were told off for sitting down or taking a break, we were told to volunteer on several different projects and then told we were doing the wrong thing when we went to help. Volunteering was made to feel like a compulsory job, which made it no fun. Also the atmosphere in Werkhaus was one of a boys club, in the sense that if you had not been to nowhere before, or if you had not been mates with everyone who already had been in Werkhaus, then you were left out, discluded and generally made to feel like you were not worthy enough to be there. Yes - some men touched me inappropriately without my consent, or tried to pressure me into sexual situations. Relationship drama Sadly, the toilets this year Dust in my eyes. Nowhere to go to be alone. No. only that I should have used sun screen for my lips. Self righteous hippies Art cars should stay out of the free camping areas Music curfew was not enforced Der grottenschlechte goa-trance/psycedelic-tec des non-stop-barrios die nicht-kommunikation zwischen den soundfloors. die sound-barrios müssten weiter auseinander sein. Oder zumindest auch mal eine nacht keinen sound haben. People did not respect the photo policy Heat and hangovers Tripped over guy wires at MoN My poked eye, which resulted in us crashing our van. But I enjoyed meeting friendly and helpful people as a result ;) Sexism Werkhaus kitchen staff were very rude to me Overwhelmed and nowhere to hide sometimes A bit of a meat market I noted many people complained about things disappearing. No - but not quite as friendly and open as Burning Man I am getting the feeling that Nowhere is just no place for children. No fire Mossies were bad this year. Some people treated the Barrios as a holiday camp and didn't pull their weight. I had an accident and had to wait rather long until a sober driver with car was found, since the nowhere van key could not be located. Dust, wind and mosquitoes. 24

Is there anything you would like to change or add to Nowhere? Hay alguna cosa que te gustaría cambiar o añadir a Nowhere? Que voudriez-vous voir en plus/en moins au Nowhere? Cosa cambieresti o aggiungeresti a Nowhere? Gibt es etwas, das du gerne an Nowhere ändern möchtest? Top Twenty key points No, don t change 60 More art 24 More fire 22 Closing ceremony 19 More toilets 16 Music curfew 14 More live music 13 More Education 13 Opening ceremony 10 Quiet zone 10 Musical diversity 8 More people 8 More Eco friendly 6 More locals 6 More music 5 More space 5 WWW earlier 5 Less MOOP 3 More shade 3 Free water 3 Don t make it bigger! It would be great if barrios could be clearly identified (some of them had no sign) Training on use of tools More live music!! Nowhere art grant for travel and instrument transport. Music noise limits and enforce them Fewer cars all around the site. A clearer safe space and sexual conduct policy Internet More art cars We love you just the way you are :) The opening ceremony should involve us all more Nowhere should not grow too fast. It would be nice if Norg were more honest regarding the levels of self-reliance and lack of commerce A less narrow age band More environmental awareness. Clear job descriptions for new leads. Promote that we need to respect others boundaries and kick people out who don't understand that Not to have any more than 1,000 people in that site - if you grow, you will need a bigger place. Please get the What Where When guide out the day before! We missed many morning events as we didn't know they were happening! Music less loud in the morning Kill all mosquitoes Better information on how you may feel at your first Nowhere and what makes it unlike any other event Communication could be better. Doors/covers on the toilets. I thought the Ice was too expensive, In town it was only 1.25 a bag and at no info it was 2.50. More info at 'NoInfo', in my experience the volunteers there were not so well informed. Maybe include a large lay-out of the site at No-info so we can easily find the different camps The gate and the greeters at the same place. It s silly to put 25m in-between for nothing. Allow Barrios to apply for arts grants!!! That toilet near the top of nowhere was oriented too much towards the camping area. Last year it was oriented more towards the mountain, which was a much better sight for that purpose. Explore the possibility of replacing those noisy generators by something more solar. I could probably help make that happen if it proves possible Availability to the free campers to pay for a share in a water cube in advance when they purchase their ticket so that you don't have to join a camp for water Better publicising of the daily programme of activities (this was often quite late, after some workshops had already passed). Better information distribution A printed art map Maybe mention it to the people that they can't have sex in public place that people use later to sit or have a workshop. it makes that place a bit gross... And after all there are children on site. Toilet curtains! A more defined and bigger opening and closing ceremony, bringing us all together at these points The atmosphere in Werkhaus needs improvement; it is unnecessary to have an us/them culture. More free water for showers. Some camps could have been a bit more friendly to 'outsiders' and better hosts rather than 'keeping themselves to themselves More music, louder music We needed more toilets this year An hour or two of quieter music in the morning...the coffee and classic idea was a good one More education on the environment More people... and a swimming pool Maybe a curfew at dawn for sound systems? Place more interactive Barrios in the free camping area on the hill. This would encourage people to explore more than just the area around MON. More space for live music More self reliance rather than using Nomads to enforce rules More non-dancing events during the night. 25

No cell phone reception. More disconnection from 'default world" More varied music would be great, maybe even something trashy, cheesy or poppy. And some live bands would be nice. More orgies More acoustic music Add a limit to the music volume at certain times of the night, especially if there are not many people partying. Make a decibel-limit, or have the loudspeakers of the party-camps turn inwards instead of outwards. A silent 3h window some time every day Composting toilets More Nationalities More ice, perhaps. A 3 hour general silence window every day. One earth hour (no electricity). Burn barrels would cut down on trash, so shame there is no fire. it would be good if it was based along the river that was a short walk away Liked it 10 C cooler - can we have that each year? Defined quiet zones with no access to loud art cars and quiet period in the morning to enjoy the surroundings More fire! I like that despite the burn ban several safe ways to burn were introduced and enjoyed. Through building trust with the local community and the fire marshal, I hope fire can continue to be nurtured in a way that has positive impact on the burning community as well as no affect on the land. More Rock n' Roll. More bacon. More tea and cake! Better toilet facilities Taller art sculptures and structures. Perhaps more workshops on sexual conduct and communication and boundary negotiations to prevent unwanted sexual behaviour More afternoon/early evening parties. More emphasis on self-reliance Yes, I would suggest to make it 100% no commerce. (by making the ticket price 2 euro's more expensive and giving away the ice). More toilet shovels Separate the sound systems from the rest of the event. More dust I would like to limit the trips to Sariñena during the event. Better info spreading about workshops. Fill up the water tanks more often Better directions for coming from Barcelona I was expecting a group of people whose ages were pretty evenly distributed, but it seemed like 3/4 of the people there were under 30. Perhaps a fee to leave the site, to stop the continuous traffic to Sariñena. More workshops! More careful attention to making people aware of the bus times. More creative and interactive pieces for people to play with. A safe space for people to have sex in. Impress me by adding more magic I think the opening ceremony needs a lead and the Saturday night event should happen even if there are shipping problems Urinals are a good idea as the bushes got pretty smelly! More communication about LNT and recycling As we get bigger, a better system of trash sorting and removal (I know we should radically self-rely but perhaps a pooled recycling sorting between theme camps - something to keep flies down) A silent barrio (apart from Shhh!) or even a little path that leads to somewhere in the hills without getting lost I felt that the way the Werkhaus was run at the very beginning during set up was a bit militant. A temple! a kind of altar would do. Maybe there could be a hole next to the toilets for people to throw up. I was sick once and didn't feel comfortable with doing it IN the toilets... *virtual bunch of flowers to drive away the nasty images* I got lost a lot. Having a street layout could be helpful. Maybe have a machine at NoInfo to show What Where When. My laptops and phones were out of juice Bigger site MoN needs a stronger identity in the evenings. Star Gazing with no generators on, at least once during the event Office and no-info in the same place! Charge cars to leave the site. See the culture of appreciation grow amongst volunteers and organizers. I'd love to see a volunteer celebration of some kind. Why not make 1 big recycling area where all the barrio's can bring their glass/paper etc. Werkhaus should set an example and use eco soap products Clearer street layout as we grow please Consider placing noise restrictions on art cars Move the site to a lake or dam Some kind of shuttle service to Sariñena More Info about what it means to run a barrio A brief quiet time after dawn More communication between camps. El suministro de agua para todos. no solo para los barrios. Igual ke los baños Can you ask my boss for more annual leave? It would sound better coming from you. More dubstep! ;) it's too short :) More focus on the basic principles as the event grows, esp. MOOP and self-reliance. More locals A suggestion box perhaps at no info would be useful Silent disco at the Garden from 8-14!!! No it is perfect! Loved the sized, any bigger and it just wouldn't be the same! Light toilets with solar lights at night Werkhaus organisers need to reassess the way Werkhaus is run and the way new volunteers are approached and managed on site Keep camps (eg Pillage Village) away from the gate area 26

Nowhere tries to be sustainable and ecological. What have you noticed or done yourself during Nowhere to keep it green? Most of you collected MOOP and are very clued up with the Leave No Trace principle. Some complained that they had to clear up after others who were not so LNT aware. Many also recycled and took your rubbish out with you. Ecological soap mattered to some, as did sharing cars, generators, food and water. The compost toilets and food composting pit were appreciated. Some of you saved water by not washing! Can you suggest ways that Nowhere could be more green? Any question, no matter how silly was answered very fast and made me feel part of Nowhere long before the event started Don t let [named individual] come back Please don't give the people that were poorly behaved and disruptive this year the privilege of returning as Werkhaus volunteers next year. Radical inclusion is allowing them to buy a ticket, but not rewarding past misbehaviours.
