Postcard NOT included. Reference to show camp. Ref: http:// www.wereldoorlog1418.nl/refugees/camp%20oldebroek/ Oldebroek camp had 3500 people in 1915, mostly Belgian soldiers. Presumably this letter is from a Canadian soldier as British and Dutch soldiers were mentioned in the website linked. Item #30. 1915 POW from Oldebroek Camp in Holland, from M Trgleveld (?) POW. to Calgary with Oldebroek cds (31 3 15) and Montreal machine cancel April 14, 1915 tying 1c Admiral. May or not be a Canadian, he may be a Belgian or Bri sh. The 1c Admiral was applied by the post office so the soldier s family did not have to pay postage due, but the rate was actually 2c. This was the last day of the 2c rate before it went to 3c with the implementa on of War Tax. I suppose if the post office was franking the covers to show prepayment, they would have corrected the error if caught.. Rare. $50
