Waste Management With a majority holding in SUMA, the largest operator in waste collection, management and recycling in Portugal, Mota-Engil is fulfilling its ambition to lead this sector, operating increasingly in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Poland and more recently in Mexico, Brazil and Oman. The Mota-Engil Group operates, through EGF, in the treatment and recovery of waste, ensuring the ability to operate the entire value chain of integrated waste management, in Portugal and with strong growth potential into new markets. Water Concession Through INDAQUA, Mota-Engil is engaged in the management and operation of municipal water concessions, an area in which it holds an important position in the Portuguese market, present also in Angola and Macau. Multiservices As a complement to its activities in the area of the construction and management of infrastructures, Mota-Engil is working in the maintenance area through Manvia, a major company in this field in Portugal with operations in Africa and northern Europe, as well. Additionally, the Group is involved in landscape architecture, through Vibeiras, a leader in Portugal in this segment, which has done significant works in Africa. Transport Concessions Mota-Engil assumes an important role in the management of an infrastructure concession which holds a network of over 3000 km, operating in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Mozambique and more recently in Colombia. Mining This sector is the most recent bet of the Mota-Engil Group, as Mota-Engil Mining has undertaken prospecting projects in Africa, benefitting from the Group s long experience gained in the execution of civil construction and earthmoving projects. The company is carrying out this type of work for some of the largest mining companies in the world, highlighting the operations underway in Malawi (Kayelekera) and Zimbabwe (Hwange Collery). Geographic Poles Latin America Turnover A growing New World (MILLION DOLLARS) 415 567 709 800 400 Mota-Engil has been present in Latin America since 1998, having started up its activity in the region in Peru, over the last 17 years making a growing investment in the development of its technical skills which enable Mota-Engil Peru to be, today, a key company in this market. Believing in the potential of Latin America, the Group fostered the expansion of its presence in the region, towards markets such as Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia, executing key construction projects in various Engineering and Construction technical areas, also having in its portfolio highway concessions in Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia in a network of more than 1,000 km. In Mexico Mota-Engil is developing infrastructure projects of significant scale in different technical fields such as construction of highways, the Guadalajara underground, hospitals, and other buildings. In Brazil, through ECB, based in Belo Horizonte, we are expanding operations in areas of road and railway infrastructures, having started recently operation in the Environment segment. Infrastructure Concessions and Services Concessions in Portugal Transportation Infrastructures Operation of seven highway concessions under the Ascendi name, with approximately 1,300 km of highways and motorways: North, Costa de Prata, Beira Litoral and Beira Alta, Greater Porto, Greater Lisbon, Douro Interior and Pinhal Interior. It also has a minority holding in Scutvias, Vialitoral, Lusoponte, concessionaire of the two bridges in Lisbon and in MTS Metro, Transportes do Sul, S.A. Waste SUMA ensures the waste collection and urban cleaning in 41 municipalities, including 2.152.414 inhabitants, as well as Waste Management and Treatment in 26 municipalities, including 490.163 inhabitants. EGF operates in the area of integrated municipal waste management, through 11 multimunicipal systems of treatment and recovery of municipal waste that, combined, involves 174 municipalities, corresponding to over 60% of the Portuguese population, i.e., approximately 6.4 million inhabitants that produce annually approximately 3.7 million tons of waste. Water Concession of municipal services for abstraction, treatment and distribution of water in Fafe, Santo Tirso/Trofa, Feira, Matosinhos, Vila do Conde, São João da Madeira and Oliveira de Azeméis. Besides its operations in Portugal, the company is present in five other countries on three continents, managing a network of more than 3000 km under concession. Waste Mota-Engil is present internationally in the area of waste, in Africa, Central Europe and Latin America, supported by the know-how of its subsidiary SUMA, which, as a clear leader in Portugal, has the capacity and experience in the integrated management of waste that allows it to efficiently contribute to a better environment and an improved quality of life for the inhabitants of the countries where it is operating. With a long tradition of presence in the capital markets, Mota-Engil has its own history of constitution associated with operations on the securities exchange that resulted in a merger between Mota & Companhia and Engil, from which came Mota-Engil, leader of the sector in Portugal.
