We have hired a motorbike, and remembering that in France they drive on the wrong side of the road we have been very careful as we have ridden the short 18km distance to the 2: known Calanaque - Sugiton. Simply, a calanque is a narrow, steep-walled 3: that is found in many places along the Mediterranean coast. They range from 4: difficult routes that requires the hiker to be fit and vigilant, to ones that are far more like a stroll up a mountain path. Sugiton is relatively easy to climb and even has some signposts in English. It should take ENW about 50 minutes to reach the top - a 460m high finger of rock that will give a 5: vista of the sea and village below. At the end of the path ENW will be looking forward to a nice dip in the sea to cool off from our hike. Although we will have to be careful as there are two beaches at the bottom - one of which is 6: for nudists!
