Overview of programme Example of build Style of new houses to be built Purpose : To construct 14 new homes in Kampung Serasa Size of the house: 800sq. ft. 2 storey house on 2.5m high stilts Total volunteers : 400 volunteers inclusive of 80 regional volunteers Location : Kampung Serasa, Dabong, Kelantan, Malaysia Duration : May 9 June 11 Volunteering duration : Choose any 1 of the following: Batch 1 (Pilot Build): 9 to 14 May (CLOSED) Batch 2: 16 to 21 May (100 volunteers) Batch 3: 23 to 28 May (100 volunteers) Batch 4: 30 May to 5 June (50 volunteers) Batch 5: 6 June to 11 June (100 volunteers) Eligibility : Open to all staff and agents from LBUs, on a first-come-firstserved basis Key activities Our ambition is to complete 3 houses every week with the help of at least 100 volunteers each week. The local villagers will be building the last 2 houses from 6 June to 13 June. Volunteers will be split into groups of around 33 people and each group will be allocated one house to build with a master builder and supervision from our building partner.

All volunteers will undergo a crash course on site upon arrival to familiarize themselves with the tools needed for the construction prior to the build. Volunteers will then be split into groups of 6 to 7 people to handle the different parts of the construction such as structure, floor, wall and roof. The work will be reasonably physical and it will be very hot and there is always the possibility of a little rain (ponchos will be provided). However all provisions, water, snacks, medical will be on site, and volunteers are encouraged to rest and break as needed. The houses have been specifically designed by EPIC homes to be built in 4 days. Transportation All volunteers will depart from the designated meeting point in KL (please refer below for details) for Kampung Serasa, Dabong, Kelantan and return to the designated meeting point in KL by charter bus. All cost incurred for travelling to and fro to the meeting point in KL will be borne by the volunteers. Due to the poor condition of the road leading into the village, all volunteers will be transferred from the bus to a lorry for the last 7km of the journey which will take another 30 minutes. Do expect a rough ride. Meeting Point for Batch 2, 3 & 5: Level 8 Auditorium, Menara Prudential, Batch 2: 15 May to 21 May Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur KL (ETD 11pm, 15 May) Kg. Batch 5: 5 June to 11 June KL (ETD 11pm, 5 June) Kg. Serasa (ETA 8am, 6 June) Kg. Serasa (ETD 8am, 11 June) KL (ETA 5pm, 11 June)

Accommodation We will be camping in a 10-man tent. Stretcher beds will be provided together with sleeping bags for each volunteer. Portable toilets and shower facilities will also be on site. This will be roughing it a little for five nights, but every precaution is being made to ensure comfort and safety. Cabin toilet shower room

Food Prudence Foundation will take care of your food for the entire duration of your participation. We will be eating on site for the duration and the local people will be cooking for us. Expect a variety of meat and vegetable dishes. A refreshment tent with fresh water will also be on site throughout our build which volunteers can use as they need. It is important to drink plenty of water to ensure you stay hydrated as it will be very hot, so we will be ensuring access to safe water at all times. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be on site together with the locals. Expect simple but fresh food and fruits. Security & Safety Prudence Foundation will be taking necessary precautions to ensure safety of the volunteers at all times. All volunteers will be covered under a group PA throughout the duration. A doctor will also be on site and security personnel will also be with the team throughout the stay.

Things to bring Prudence Foundation will provide tents, stretcher beds and sleeping bags as well as 5x PRUVols t-shirts per person and a Prudence Foundation Poncho, arm sleeves, water bottle for refill (500ml), sling bag and a hygiene kit. Gloves, hard hats etc will also be provided on site. Recommended items to bring: Sturdy boots Light weight work trousers preferably or knee length shorts (note: if you wear jeans, it will be hot to work in) Downtime clothes / flip flops (must use flip flops for toilet/showering) Towel / Washing amenities Sunglasses Suncream / Sunblock Sun Hat / Cap Passport and visa as required for travel A rucksack / backpack (note: suitcases are not ideal) Mosquito repellent Pre-charged power banks to charge mobile phones (limited electricity supply on site). Padlock for your bags Torch / Headlamp Additional useful items: electricity/adapter convertor Cash: Prudence Foundation will cover all basic costs throughout the programme so bring only what you think necessary for personal related outgoings. Things to take note before signing up as it will be complicated to leave once on site: 1. Expect tough conditions as we will be camping and staying in a relatively remote area. 2. Telephone reception is very limited in coverage on site so volunteers should be prepared for this. 3. This area is an Islamic region, so volunteers should dress modestly and respectfully (ie. no short shorts/sleeveless tops). It is a safe area, but there are no shops etc in the near vicinity, so everyone will be on site for the whole duration. However please conduct your own research before making an informed decision about whether you are comfortable living and operating in this environment. It is recommended you check with your doctor for advice on what vaccinations you will require. 4. Please obtain the necessary approval/ clearance from your line manager/ HOD before applying for the volunteering programme. 5. Volunteers will be required to sign a PCA and EPIC waiver form upon registration. Should you have any question on the rebuilding mission, kindly get in touch with us at csr@prudential.com.my
