The institute will provide you with the textbooks for each course that you are taught. 3. Is it possible to register on a later date? In case of a genuine reason, the institute may allow you to join late. It is advisable to contact the GSD (Graduate Studies Division) and inform them of the same. The official timings are 9:15-6:30. Although several professors hold classes from 9-11 in the night too. One lecture is of 2 hours. 5. Will our batch be divided into sections? The batch will be divided into three sections of 50 students each. In there is only one section. 6. Will I need a laptop? If yes, should it be a high configuration one? Attendance is taken more than once in every lecture. The attendance is taken by the professors using an online platform where the photograph of the candidate is visible against his/her name. 90% attendance is mandatory for each course. For every

10% fall in attendance, you lose one grade in that subject. In case of medical issues the institute may give waiver. 8. Is IIFT only about Trade? Absolutely not. Agreed, trade is what we are known for, and IIFTians are perceived to be giants in the world of Trading. But that does not mean we are any lesser a B-school for Finance/Marketing/Operations/Gen-Man enthusiasts. Come with an open mind and IIFT will offer you more than you can possibly learn. 9. Is IIFT only about studies? Again, the answer is NO. If you are wise enough, you will get ample opportunities to enjoy college life to its fullest. There will be loads of cultural and sports activities to keep you interested. 10. Do I have to study anything before joining IIFT? Well, here at IIFT, we all start from scratch, so no compulsion on anyone to prepare or read anything special. The dear old ET will be good enough for now. Moreover, we will also be sending study material for each domain a few weeks before the joining so that you can have some idea about the domains. Our advise would be to enjoy your pre IIFT days as much as you can. 11. Tell us something about the exchange program IIFT has signed MoUs with several foreign universities across Europe and students from IIFT spend their 3 rd Trimester at these Universities. In return, we have students from these universities coming to IIFT and pursuing their studies here. The program is once in a lifetime opportunity of getting the global exposure in your student life and learning different aspects of culture of countries that you visit during the program. The process for application for Student Exchange Program is very simple. You have to write a statement of purpose of your application for the exchange program. You also have to give preferences for the foreign universities that you intend to apply to. Then you will be interviewed by a panel of faculties. A final list is provided based on your preferences and interview. The tuition fee for the chosen university is borne by the institute but all other expenses have to be borne by the student concerned.
