The Conference Geopoetic of Danube Basin INVITATION LETTER If you are a student, teaching assistant or young professional in the field of environmental protection, tourism or media, we would like to invite you to attend the International Conference Geopoetic of Danube Basin (Danube as midpoint of economic, cultural and tourism cooperation), which will take place from 25th to 26th September 2009, in Novi Sad, Serbia. The main objectives of the Conference are: Gather together people from different European Countries to exchange experiences and best practices; Connect universities to contribute at improving higher education in the region; Set the bases for future cooperation and projects planning; level. Improve the existing network from country to the European

The language of the meeting is English and people from Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine are especially welcomed to participate. Please note that there is no participation fee to take part in the Conference. Instead, all the costs are covered by the organizers. Twenty six (26) participants will be accepted to the Conference. Accommodation (meals included) and up to 150 euros for travel costs are covered by the organisers. We do require proof of the travel costs incurred. Accommodation will be in Student Centre of the University of Novi Sad. Since we have only limited number of participants for whom all the costs are covered, we do need a short motivation letter (max. 300 words) and CV from applicants. The selection of participants will be on the basis of the quality of these two documents. The notification of acceptance or refusal will be send by e-mail with other relevant information for those that have been chosen on Friday 18th. Thus, ifi you are in love, as we are, with this great river, the Danube, and would like to discuss the means of preserving it and exploiting its touristic potential in eco-friendly way, please register online to saintdanube@europe.com by September 16th. Besides all the discussion of the first day of the Conference, on the second day, all participants will have the opportunity to see for themselves the beauty of this river and its canals when they join the participants of World Canals Conference for a tour down the Danube s Canals. Return to Zrenjanin. Visit the brewery overlooking the navigable Bega River. Lunch. Continue to the large modern lock on the Tisa River at Novi Bečej, where the weir will be under repair. Short transfer to Bečej, to visit the Eiffel lock, now disused and replaced by a higher-capacity lock on the Veliki Canal. Returning to Novi Sad, pause at the crossing of the Jegrička River, which offers a remarkably preserved Environment, popular for fishing and canoeing.
