MEDICAL CONDITIONS ALL medical conditions are covered providing that there has been no change in the past 12 months. If there has been a change in the condition, change in medication OR a hospital referral, the insurance with Marsh will be invalid.

TELEPHONE CASCADE All parents have been issued with a telephone cascade list. Please make sure that we have your most up to date emergency contact number. We will start the cascade on safe arrival at the hotel. For the return journey we will start the cascade when we are approximately 2 hours away from Idsall. If there is an emergency issue with your child we will contact you directly and not through the cascade system.

MOBILE PHONES As mentioned previously it is the responsibility of the pupils to look after their personal belongings but it is advised that expensive mobile phones, cameras, etc. are not taken. A cheap pay as you go phone would be ideal as all pupils should have a way of being contacted whilst on the trip by staff should we need to get in touch. FOOD Breakfast is served each morning at the hotel : will include waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, pastries, yogurt, breads, fruit juice, coffee and more Lunch and any refreshment is to be funded out of the students spending money Evening meals have been booked in advance in a variety of restaurants. We will be given a more limited menu but these are already paid for. This includes 4 evening meals : La Mela, Senor Frog s, Dallas BBQ and Mamma Sbarros

SPENDING MONEY As previously mentioned spending money is required for lunches and refreshments and this is at your discretion. English money for refreshments on day of departure and return will be required approx. 40 for service station stops and at the airport. Spending money is at your discretion as we will be spending a half day shopping in New York. We would advise around $200 (around $40 per day = 32 approx) We will be having an Idsall bank whilst there in case students wish to leave money in the hotel All entrance fees have been paid for

CLOTHING February in New York may prove to be bit cold! Average temperature is 2 degrees and so layering is essential and appropriate warm clothing should be packed Thick waterproof coat also gloves and hat are advisable Sensible sturdy waterproof shoes / boots. Please avoid heels as you will be walking everyday (even to evening restaurants) and avoid sandals and flips-flops Ordered hooded tops should be worn on the first day of travel as it makes spotting the students easy in the airport and service stations

TRAVEL Passport must be handed in Copy of ESTA must be handed in One item of hand luggage per person MAXIMUM suitcase allowance is 23KG we advise that suitcases do have wheels on them for easy transportation by students Games / ipods / ipads / DVD s / Books / Magazines (remember ipods etc. will run out of charge!) HEADPHONES FOR ON PLANE. No fizzy or energy drinks and if you are taking snacks please be aware that they MUST NOT contain nuts (or traces of nuts) these will be confiscated immediately we will stop at services regularly Students are responsible for carrying their own luggage.

Health (medicines) con. Please give any daily medication to Mrs Leverington on Sunday morning Any emergency medication (e.g. asthma inhalers, epipens) are to be kept by the student, however Mrs Leverington will take the school supply of medication If your child uses an epipen for allergies, the school and UK customs will require a medical letter to allow needles to pass through border controls

ID CARDS All students will be issued with an identity card on the coach on the day of departure These need to be carried with them at all times The card gives emergency contact address, telephone numbers and hotel

ALCOHOL No pupils will be allowed to consume or buy alcohol on the trip regardless of how old they are. Alcohol is strictly forbidden anywhere in the hotel, and on the trip.

TIME KEEPING It would be a good idea for pupils to wear a watch!! They will have free time within museums and be given instruction on meet times. These will need to be kept to. I am aware many now rely on mobile phones for the time but a watch would be a preferred way of time keeping Groups will be in no less than 4 students whilst walking around galleries and New York attractions Students will not be allowed to go off at any point without a member of staff authorising it beforehand and then they will always be in groups of no less than 4

PASSPORTS and ESTA Hand in PASSPORTS and a ESTA visas before you leave tonight. The school have to keep copies of them on the trip and also in school so we do need them prior to the trip going out. They will be kept in the school safe until the day of departure. Cascade form If you haven t already handed it in, please do so before you leave

SWEATSHIRTS If you have ordered a sweatshirt we are expecting them at the beginning of February. We will issue them as soon as we get them and advise that you wash them before wearing. They do tend to leave fluff everywhere if you don t!
