Property Information The Gold Mountain Resort is located in a scenic and sunny plot just four minutes drive from the heart of Rauris. The resort consists of 46 individual Chalet dwellings with a further 12 Apartments set within the central Manor House. Resort Information Rauris is a picturesque market town situated within the Hohe Tauern National Park in Austria s Salzburg province. Originally a gold miner s village, Rauris lies in a quiet position between the historic Gastein Valley, the lakeside resort of Zell am See and the glacier town of Kaprun. Getting There Rauris is just 65 minutes from Salzburg airport and 2 hours 20 minutes from Innsbruck, giving it an easy transfer throughout the year. Munich Airport is also under 3 hours away, and offers low cost, convenient flights throughout the year. This dual season resort is close to some of Austria s tallest peaks and is surrounded by a number of popular ski resorts including Zell am See, Kaprun and Bad Gastein which are all within 35 minutes drive. The tranquil location, great accessibility and familyfriendly skiing make Rauris a perfect choice for first time skiers and those looking to avoid crowded resorts. Winter The pretty alpine village of Rauris is a great ski destination for beginners, snowboarders and families alike. The immediate area offers 32km of well groomed pistes, with 15km of blue runs, 12km of red runs and 5km of black runs and couldn t be better suited for learners looking to perfect their skills. Rauris also makes a fantastic starting base for skiing in this region, with several large ski resorts within easy reach. Within half an hours drive, Zell am See has over 130km of pistes to explore, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier in Kaprun is a similar distance which offers summer skiing at the lofty heights of 3,000m. The Gastein Valley is just 20 minutes away and is home to a further 200km of high quality skiing. These resorts also form part of the enormous Amade ski-region which boasts a total of over 865km of pistes and 270 lifts on one ski pass. Rauris itself has a number of open and sunny slopes up to 2,200m and benefits from reliable snow fall. There is also a shuttle bus service from the cable car base station in Rauris which leaves every 20 minutes.
Summer With fantastic scenery and outstanding hiking, the nearby romantic Seidlwinkel valley offers abundant fishing - with a network of waters which extend to some 45km and are home to brook and rainbow trout, as well as char. The quality of Rauris s fishing waters is excellent. Pure, clear waters follow a natural, meandering course and are surrounded by lush vegetation and pretty copses of alder trees. Set within the breathtaking Hohe Tauern National Park, Rauris has plenty to keep you busy in the summer months. With over 150km of marked hiking paths, it gives you the perfect opportunity to explore the valley on two feet. There are mountain bike routes here for cyclists too and with many lifts open throughout the summer months getting to the top is as easy as freewheeling back down again. Stop at one of the many picture perfect mountain huts along the way. Other summer activities include nature trails, swimming in the local lido, white water rafting and weekly music concerts which are held in the town square throughout the summer.
