Classic GTO Association of Denver An affiliated chapter of the GTO Association of America On Saturday, May 17, the Camaro Club of the Rockies held a Poker Run to benefit the American Cancer Society. Considering the bad weather we had during May, that day was quite nice and convertible tops were even dropped after noon. After registering for the run in the town of Lyons, we were given our play sheets containing directions to the remaining four stops on the run. At each stop, the play sheets would be marked to show it had been visited. Lyons was the first stop, and each entrant s sheet got the first initial. Then we were off down the highway to Boulder, and from there up the canyon and into the mountains to Nederland, the second stop, where the photos below were taken. After getting the mandatory initials, it was on to the third stop, Central City. Continued on page 4

At the final stop at Fun City, each entrant drew a hand of five cards. The best hand would win the Grand Prize, which was a collection of various things, such as gift cards, prizes, discounts, and other items. Page 5 This car show was again sponsored by The Tilted Kilt restaurant and pub on Belleview Avenue east of I-25, and held in the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. There is no entry fee for this event. Each entrant is given a ballot on which to vote for their favorite cars in the show. Trophies are awarded based on this voting. As in past years, the entries were an interesting mix of nearly every kind of car, from rat rods to exotic sports cars costing in the $100,000+ range. A photo sampler follows. John Lawrence and his GTO. Larry Rich and his street rod. Darlene and Bill Cassel and their GTO. Nissan GTR, one of the world s fastest production cars. 500+hp, 200mph, 0-60 3.2, $100,000+ but not too stylish.

A 635 hp twin turbo Corvette! Balloting to Pick the Winners Each vehicle entered in the show was assigned a number, and each entrant in the show received a ballot with five lines on it. The voters could pick their favorite cars by writing up to five different car numbers on the ballot. The total votes for each car were tabulated, and those in the top twenty were given awards. The photo at the bottom right shows John Lawrence receiving a trophy for his GTO getting the third highest vote count in the show. Page 6
