Hari Raya AidilFitri 2015/1436H & CILTM 50th Anniversary The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia (CILTM) organised an open house in conjunction with the Hari Raya AidilFitri 1436 celebrations as well as to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of CILTM. Among the VIPs attended was YAB Tun Ling Liong Sik, the former Minister of Transport of Malaysia and a Chartered Fellow of CILTM, YBhg Tan Sri Dato Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, YBhg Tan Sri Halim Mazmin, CILTM council members and CILT Members at Kelab Sultan Sulaiman, Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur. Prior to that, the CILTM Council Members conducted the 11th Management Council Meeting at the Club s Conference Room.
The 10th Management Council Meeting The CILTM 10 th Management Council Meeting was held on 10 th May 2015 and attended by all Council Members and staff from secretariat office. As always a host of issues were deliberated during the meeting. In the meeting, it was concluded that CILTM should ramp up its effort to get more members through our planned activities as well as networking led by Dato President. BRIEFING AND FINAL PROJECT PRESENTATION BY THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN NAVY OFFICERS The programme was held from 1-3 June 2015 at the Shah Alam Convention Centre. It was attended by 13 senior officers from the Royal Malaysian Navy. The programme was conducted by the appointed panel consisted of Dr Sabariah Jemali CMILT, Dr Dazmin Daud CMILT and Dr Mustakim Melan CMILT.
A Workshop on Accelerating Growth in Services Sector in Malaysia was conducted by CILTM and MSPC. The meeting was held at Hilton Hotel Petaling Jaya on 11 th July 2015 and was attended by the President, Vice President, Secretary General, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, WILAT Chairperson and few council members. MSPC was represented by Ir Choo KokBeng, President of MSPC and En. Shaifubahrim bin Mohd Saleh, Immediate Past President of MSPC. Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM) Excellence Award 2015 Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM) Excellence Award 2015 was held on 10 th June 2015 at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur. CILTM Trustee, YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman FCILT received the Excellent Award during the dinner. The dinner was officiated by YB Puan Hajah Nancy Haji Shukri, Minister from the Prime Minister's Department. BIM Excellence Award 2015 was also attended by BIM Professional Working Committee headed by Dato' Sharifah Halimah as CILT Malaysia WILAT Chairperson. The CILTM Alumni was also invited to witness the award receiving ceremony of YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman FCILT and to interact with others BIM s professional members. Those representing the CILTM Alumni was YBhg Dato Prof Haji Ahmad Zahir Haji Mokhtar FCILT, YBhg Tan Sri James Alfred FCILT, YBhg Dato Dr Samad Mohd Dom FCILT, Tuan Haji Musa Lebai Mat Salleh FCILT, Major (B) Chong Tek Min FCILT, YM Raja Shaharuddin Raja Hamzah FCILT, Tuan Haji Othman Rais FCILT, Mr Goh Ing King CMILT, Mr Perumal a/l Munusamy CMILT and Mejar Chang Kah Loon CMILT.
CILT Malaysia celebrated her 50 th Anniversary on 16 th June 2015 A media Conference was conducted in the Secretariat office in Shah Alam to mark the soft launch of CILTM 50 th Anniversary celebration. The cutting of the birthday cake was attended by the President, Council members as well as all secretariat staff.
A lunch gathering initiated by MSPC was held on 10 th June 2015 at Petronas Executive Club House, Petronas Twin Tower 2, and Level 42. The event was attended by new members of MSPC. A membership drive was also conducted. CILTM was represented by the President, Dato Abd Radzak Abd Malek FCILT. The President and Treasurer of CILTM attended the Majlis Konsultansi Bajet 2016 on 15 th June 2015 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre. The Budget Consultation was chaired by Prime Minister YAB Dato' Sri Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak. CILTM submitted a paper, "Proposal for Development of Centre for Logistics & Transport in Malaysia', prepared by CILTM Assistant Treasurer, Dr Kasypi Mokhtar CMILT and presented by the President during the discussion.
Meeting between CILTM and the Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology (NMIT) was held on 19 th June 2015 at Concorde Hotel Shah Alam to discuss matters pertaining to the accreditation programme and collaboration with CILTM. The discussion was attended by the President, Treasurer, Commander Shahrir Haji Ahmad CMILT and Dr Mustakim Melan CMILT. NMIT is presently a Corporate Member of CILTM. NMIT was represented by Encik Halil Ali, Haji Tomingan Kamaron, Mr. Pandiyan and Encik Zaini. Meeting between CILTM and Politeknik Malaysia Meeting about Pelaksanaan Sijil Profesional Dalam Bidang Logistik dan Pengangkutan between CILTM Education & Research Committee and Politeknik Malaysia was held on 30th July 2015 at the Ministry of Education. CILTM was represented by Dr Mustakim Melan CMILT, Puan Sharifah Salwa and Puan Sarifah Sahak while Politeknik Malaysia was represented by Encik Tajudin Abd Rashid, Pengarah Bahagian Kecemerlangan Profesional, Puan Jamiliah Ahmad, Ketua Penolong Pengarah Kanan Bahagian Kecemerlangan Profesional, Puan Shareaha Din, Ketua Penolong Pengarah Kanan Bahagian Pembangunan Kurikulum and few others members from the department.
The UCSI University conducted the Professional Career Day on 8 th August 2015 at the university compound. CILTM was represented by YBhg Dato Dr Mohamed Amin Kassim CMILT. He was also invited to deliver a paper on The Logistics Management and Career Prospect of the Logistics Management to the graduates. The President of CILTM attended the BIM Exco Meeting on 12 th August 2015 at BIM Secretariat Office. Site Visit for CILTM Convocation 2015 venue attended by Dato President and the staff from CILTM Secretariat office was held on 19 th August 2015.
INFORMATION: Malaysian Academy of Supply Chain & Logistics Management (MASLM) is one of CILTM accredited training centre for short course. Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) in echoing the Government's initiative to increase the number of skilled workforce through 1Malaysia Globally Recognised Industry and Professional (1MalaysiaGRIP). The accredited programme namely Advanced Certificate in Supply Chain & Logistics Management (ACSLM) will be conducted at MASLM.
