The panorama of La Paz from the sea gives another perspective to this place. The cruising speed of the boat being small, it lets the time to enjoy completely the landscape. - After having passed near Bahia Balandra, we cross the canal of San Lorenzo and soon discover crystal clear and full of fish waters which surround the island Espiritu Santo, protected natural zone, as all the islands of Gulf of California. The boat drops anchor in a cove protected from the wind. - Quick Lunch - Excursion to Los Islotes situated in the North of Isla Partida.

(Punta Mechudo and San Evaristo). - 10:30 A.M. Arrival at Isla San Francisquito. Anchorage in a crystalline cove. - After the lunch, the excursion on the small island of "El Pardito", named too "Isla Coyote". 2 or three fishermen's families live over there all year long. A woman, Maria, sells her bracelets and necklaces made from shells. - Then return to Isla San Francisquito. Hike of approximately one hour and a half to discover the island. This one has two faces. - The face east is abrupt with cliffs plunging into the sea and some pebble beaches whereas the western face is leans gently towards the sea and offers a wonderful beach of white sand. Possibility of snorkeling, especially of the east side.

- Return to the boat. - Happy hour and dinner. - Night on the spot. Day 3 / Isla San Francisquito / Isla San José / Punta El Gato: After breakfast, departure for Punta El Gato situated on the continent. We pass by Isla San José, a quite large island. We go discovering a former exploitation of salt on the spot. If the weather allows it, stop at Punta Colorada, North of the island to observe surprising sculptured rocky formations polished by the winds which appear of nowhere in a palette of ocre and pink. - Along the way, the boat follows the coast (Nopolo) and the steep cliffs. - The following islands: San Jose, San Diego and Santa Cruz are all three similar speaking of geology steep but possess all the same very beautiful beaches.

Arrival in/at Punta El Gato at the end of the after noon. The ocre coast is reflected in the sea, it is the ideal place to take out a kayak and go explore the surroundings. Back at the boat, it is dinnertime. Night on the spot. Day 4 / Punta El Gato / Bahia Agua Verde: We lay anchor direction Bahia Agua Verde. After some hours, we arrive, what let s us time to take out again kayaks to explore the bay, the village (fishermen s/anglers village) and hills overhanging the bay. It bears well its name because it comes from the colour of the water of an amazing emerald green! On returning to the boat, the time to quench thirst and for those who wish it we will head towards " Roca solitaria ", an immense rock which marks the entry of the bay by the North. Back on the boat, the aperitif, the guacamole with chips and home ma de salsa. Dinner and starlight night. Day 5 / Bahia Agua Verde / Isla Carmen: Breakfast. Then departure northward direction Isla Carmen, one of 5 islands of the "marine national park of the bay of Loreto", so named in 1966 by the president at that time, to protect one of the biggest undersea/underwater ecosystems of Baja California. We can observe colonies of sea lions, dolphins, pelicans and other birds as the bluefooted booby there. The underwater fauna of the region is exceptional because it is a place where tepid tropical waters meet colder subtropical waters, what explains the big variety of the species in particular the cetaceans. Binoculars are at your disposal during all the cruise, it is thus the moment to catch a pair and to scrutinize the horizon Arrival on Isla Carmen at "Arroyo Blanco" on the east side of the island. One hour hike up the small canyon, surrounded by white rocks. Easy and very attractive ride. We join then the boat which is going to take us until Bahia Salinas, more to the East.

Excursion to the former exploitations of salt which closed during the opening of the saltworks of Guerrero Negro at the end of the 70s. Wonderful colours and crystallized rocks. Ancient buildings made out of coral and equipments in ruin. A very interesting route in this today abandoned place, which brings a supplementary emotion. Return to the boat. Dinner and night on the spot. Day 6 / Isla Carmen / Puerto Escondido: After the breakfast, we lay anchor, direction the coast by following Isla Carmen on all his length. After a passage close to Isla Danzante and its rugged relief, we reach Puerto Escondido, nested behind a hill. It is here the end of the trip. End of the cruise. In what season to travel? We consider that this tour can be made all year long, but it is necessary to consider that in the South (from San Ignacio) the August and September is/are particularly warm (+/-40 C, 105ªF) and very wet. Furthermore, in September the risk of having hurricanes or big rains do not have to be underestimated. All year long, Baja California enjoys a rather pleasant and warm climate generally speaking, with a little "cool" wind in winter, and sometimes cold nights (in the desert), and little rain. In a general way, the North is cooler, with more rain in winter, and the South is warmer with more rain in summer.
